Steve Shovlar
Thought all five of the boys did very well tonight. The two Coventry riders did what was expected of them, and Stead and Richardson both did their jobs. However special mention must go to Eddie Kennett who proved all the doubters wrong with some great riding to prove that Middlo got it spot on with his inclusion. Easily the most inexperienced rider in the team but showed maturity beyong his years at times to get his points. So straight through to the final and we are on our way to the World Cup Final at Leszno in Poland, avoiding that terrible runoff. Well done to Middlo and the boys! horneymikh
Yup, agree with all that, great to see Scotty with some great confidence as well, hopefully he can carry that on into the GP's. Disappointed with the team USA put in, there are better American riders around than Heddon and Venegas, riding in Britain at the moment. Well done also to the Russians, very entertaining. orion
Yea great result i don't know how we overcome a sweden team missing all there top riders and scott nicholls and chris harris riding three home track if only we had got to the bookmakers to have a bet
bluebee
Well done to all! An excellent captain's job from Nicholls and Harris consolidates what is proving to be an exceptional season. Great support from the Stead, Kennett and Richardson. Maybe not the toughest of opposition and home advantage but you still have to do the job when the wind is in your favour. Remember the doom and gloom about British riders. We might not have a World champion yet but it might not be as bad as we thought.
frigbo
A bit of perspective is badly needed here i think. Yep, they won comfortably and rode well, but the Swedes were severely weakened. Keep it for Saturday
BritPete
Well, there you go. According to so many clever dicks on here Middlo had got the team wrong! However, he did not, and egg must be covering the faces of certain individuals by now! Stead, it was said, should be at reserve! Laughable! O. Allen, it was said, should be in the team! Laughable! Middlo has been involved in speedway before some of you were even born, and yet you seemed to think that you knew better than him when it came to team selection... ....You did not..And tonight proved him to be 100% correct in his team selection, and my signature now really does bear fruit! LOL! And now on to Poland, we will not be favourites, but I do think at the very least that we will make our presence felt!
SuzieQ
HUGE Well Done to all the Brit Boys! You all did us proud tonight! Double figures all round! Just keep it up for Saturday!
Col
Yeah it was all a little too easy tonight. One has to wonder if Scotty missed the gate on purpose in heat 25. Jonas Davidsson puts in his greatest ever performance in GB but "Belle Vue's shining beacon" Lindback was dreadful, the two sibling elder statesmen were poor and Lindgren wasn't as good as I expected him to be. Hancock ploughed a lone furrow for USA, Janniro was awful, Kerr a liability. The Russians were good value spoilers.
Wackie
Yep, well done Team GB, job done. Can't see Kennet and Stead being able to contain the Poles & Danes on Saturday though. C'mon the Ruskie's though - how entertaining were they? Every EL team should have one.

Adder
I am frankly staggered by the hysteria over last night's result. We were expected to win comfortably and did win comfortably. We were 1/4 to win for God's sake. If we manage to finish anywhere other than 4th on Saturday then that may be cause for some celebration but we didn't beat any team of note last night and people appear to have taken leave of their senses and gone mad. semion
Have to agree adder, that has go to be one of the poorest quailty international fields ever assembled. It just goes to show the lack of numbers at the top end of the sport. Edited July 17, 2007 by semion
21st century heathen
Well, there you go. According to so many clever dicks on here Middlo had got the team wrong... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But with Olly and David in the team we'd have scored somewhere in the mid-high sixties. Saturday will be a completely different meeting, and a 3rd place will be all GB can hope for at best. maybe i'll be proved wrong, but i just can't understand the number of threads on here congratulating GB, they've done nothing yet other than have a practise meeting on their own track. Sir Jasper
If we can grab a bronze then that will be a job well done, and if Iversen and Bjerre dont perform quite so well then we may pinch a silver. To be honest I think this may well be one of the most open finals for a while as all teams are somewhat dependant on some riders who could be hit and miss. Trees
typical GB attitude i'm afraid. Scuse me SH, you're one of us hahahahahaha, what exactly are GB fans meant to put on here then? Useless performance, I dunno why you even bother, give the trophy to the danes now???? Well that's the extreme but you get my drift!!
