BOBBATH
Was on BSPA site-there's a bit about a book called Brummie Legends-says it covers people from Alan Hunt to "the tragedy of Soren Sjosten"-what tragedy is that-did he die?? If so how-don't tell me it was another suicide!!
Bobbin' Along
Before my time, but he did indeed die early. I'm not certain, but I believe it had something to do with alcohol and I thinkhe became some sort of tramp/down and out. If I'm wrong, the masses will correct me. sandman
That's too bad-I know his brother Christer died -of leukemia I think-anybody expand on the comment re Soren?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Christer was killed while racing in Australia. Dont know too much about Soren, but I think he lost the battle with the bottle in the end. Shame, he was a really nice person, and an absolute pleasure to watch on a bike. Steve Turner
Soren died in 1999, at home in Avesta, in Sweden. He had a tough time, losing his Dad and brother. Divorcing and getting done for drink-driving. And of course, he always liked to drink anyway. Let's hope he's found peace...
BOBBATH
I think I must have Christer Sjosten mixed up with Christer Lofqvist-perhaps it was the latter who died of illness. Sorry about Soren Sjosten-he was a great rider.

Mr. Clemens
One of the true greats was Soren - a true joy to watch
Shalerash
Soren, my first speedway idol, what a pleasure to watch round hyde road, always in bother through the bottle and a bit hardwork personality wise, he's brother Christer complete opposite, i spannered for him a few times, really nice guy friendly and a little on the quiet side, sadly neither no longer with us, Christer in a racing accident in Brisbane in the 79/80 winter and Soren ending up pretty much a down and out in manchester before going back to Sweden where the booze finally finished him off, very sad.
