Ghostwalker
Whats Gothenburg like???? Seeing as though it's the day before my birthday!!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The City is fantastic. A very nice city and it has a fairly big (at least for Sweden/Scandinavia) amusement park; Liseberg and a big shopping centre called Nordstan Gothenburg is the 2nd biggest city in Sweden with some 500'000 people living there. I'm certain that you will like the city. read more at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothenburg#Culture http://wikitravel.org/en/Gothenburg http://www.goteborg.com/default.aspx?id=528 Ullevi is not as good as Parken or Millennium stadium. I have only been there once 2004 but i found it a bit cold and windy at least if your places are high up on the mid long sides. If its allot of spectators like 30'000+ i think the atmosphere in the arena can bee good but when i was there it wasn't not even half full (capacity is around 40'000), maybe 15'000-20'000 and there were almost no atmosphere at all. IMO its misses the more intimate atmosphere of Cardiff and Copenhagen. Dont remember much of the actual GP. DOnt even remember who won. So if you plan to do something else than just speedway choose Gothenburg. And I agree with Ghostwalker about the atmosphere, it needs to be plenty of people... squeaky
So is it definate that there is no Aussie GP in 08 ? Rumour was really big that there would be ?
Sandie
So is it definate that there is no Aussie GP in 08 ? Rumour was really big that there would be ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It would seem that way. But a friend said recently - dont expect this to be the full list. There may still be one or two additional suprises still to come as the FIM list was still 'provisional'. Curiouser and curiouser
Kevin Meynell
There may still be one or two additional suprises still to come as the FIM list was still 'provisional'. Provisional usually means that dates have tentatively been agreed with the venues, but contracts have not actually been signed yet.
Kevin Meynell
So is it definate that there is no Aussie GP in 08 ? Rumour was really big that there would be ? There have rumours about GPs outside Europe almost as long as the SGP has been going. Malaysia and North America in particular were mentioned about 10 years ago, but it largely depends on finding a local promoter willing to take the financial risk of staging a GP. I'll believe it when I see it. Edited October 24, 2007 by Kevin Meynell
Subedei
Preliminary calender : 10. maj: Leszno, Polen <{POST_SNAPBACK}> An early chance for Jaroslaw Hampel to prove his worth to IMG and the FIM, since he'll surely be the wild card. Might just get a new job though. Because countries spelt with six letters get preferential treatment. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahhh good that includes us then. UKGBNI.
