Col
What an absolutely awful track for a big event. So glad I didn't waste a night watching it live, I watched most of it *8 on the DVD player.

beesboybert
A shockingly boring meeting. I even turned off to watch an episode of the simpsons, flicked back at the adverts to find that I hadn't missed a race, watched that heat then went back to the simpsons and turned back to the speedway at the end of that only to find i still hadn't had the fortune to miss any of the heats! Adder
Thankfully there was some decent boxing on ITV4 and ITV1 to flick over to. A truly dire meeting
21st century heathen
That was also my opinion on the Finnish team, especially since Kauko and Joonas ride over here!<{POST_SNAPBACK}> And don't forget Kaj has spent significant time over here as well. Really enjoyed this meeting it show the skills of how to gate on a slick track just like the good old bays of the mid 80's in denmark . The best riders won the heats instead of grass trackers like harris waiting for riders to hit holes etc . This meeting was what real speedway is all about . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That wasn't speedway. It was a competition to see who could stay nearest the curb!! Hey ! don't trash the Danish fans.... I am one of them, and I was there. All 4 teams on the same track and 1 team won. Good luck to what ever team you are following. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nothing against the Danish riders. They were the best on the night, and deserved to win. The comments here are born of frustration that the track wasn't better prepared for racing.

Denmark are a brilliant team and would probably of won the meeting anyway, but the main losers are the fans who were deprived of what should of been a great meeting. If the world champion cant pass, there is something wrong with the track. Out of curiousity, which in your oppinion was the better match, the WTC final at Poole 2004 or Vojen,s 2007.
barrow boy
I love watching speedway, any standard whether it be live or on the telly but I really found this one hard work. Perhaps it is the formular being used which really only serves to eliminate the worst team which was a forgone conclusion from the start. I agree that it decided which nation moved direct to the final but in reality all 3 other than the obvious afore mentioned worst team live to fight another day. Perhaps tonights meeting may prove a bit more interesting though because it features 2 teams going for the win and 2 teams trying to survive. I thought some of the racing was good on Saturday but it was very difficult for those riders who prefer the blast around the outside style of riding who could not change to suit the conditions. Leigh Adams said he was not worried that both Denmark & Poland beat them because it would be very different at Lesnow. Won't it be just as hard for them though with the other team's out and out racers also benefiting from the wide open spaces. How much influence will Ole Olsen have though on track preperation? CB252
Absolute gating tart fest on Saturday. One of the worst meetings ever televised. Well done to 'Team Tart' on the win. Hoping for more entertainment tonight!

In f1 there is no passing ard it is much popular than speedway a meeting like what we witness on sat could be the way forward .

stevehone
funny where people are saying the Danes just set their bikes up for gating and a slick track ... well surely the rest can do the same?
iris123
funny where people are saying the Danes just set their bikes up for gating and a slick track ... well surely the rest can do the same? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My thought entirely Steve. What does it say about the other 2 top teams if they were defeated by a track? I mean,ok the cancelling of practice might have been a bit of gamesmanship(Stekkers?).If Jan had anything to do with either the cancellation or the way the track was prepared then i take my hat off to the man. That is what a manager should do.I would say prepare the track to your advantage and your opponents disadvantage. But the thing is who did Australia and Poland have out in the first heat?Crump + Gollob! Now they should have been straight back in the pits and told their team mates just what the track was like.I mean if top riders like Adams,Gollob and Crump can be beaten by "lightweight" Kenneth Bjerre what does that say about their adaptability? Like i said it was enjoyed by the Danes in the crowd where i was.And if the same thing happens tonight for Britain, many who were complaining will be saying something like "Well it wasn't the best meeting, but the main thing is we are in the Final". The strange thing is, it was Bomber that hit a hole/rut and lost ground on his way to beating Greg.
deanozoff
I fell asleep whilst watching this last night. That just about sums up the meeting for me. Even Sky who really do put on good coverage of our sport struggled with the follow me leader stuff. I just hope that any new fans that were converted after Cardiff didnt tune into it. It was boring with a capital B.

Lis
To be honest i think most of the Danish fans enjoyed it.Those around me anyway.Particularly everytime a Dane beat Gollob for some reason. In fact i enjoyed the meeting as well.Guess it is different being there, meeting people, watching the Danes trounce the rest Good to meet up with KevH,Joanne,Mr Snackette,Peter S +Udo(though Udo is only a member of the live updates).Didn't manage to find garf,TwoMinuteWarning or Lis though <{POST_SNAPBACK}> We had a great night in vojens, bit boring after first 10 heats, so my son started to draw airplanes and rockets on his spreadsheet instead of keeping up with the point's..
