SCB
I'm going for the first time and am staying close to Wenceslas Square too! How far is it to the track...(walkable)? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Most people will be close to Wenceslas Square TBH, it's the tourist part. If you're too far out it's not so good (or at least doesn't look it) and you'd not want to go much further than you can walk. It's a tram ride from the tourist part/centre to the stadium. But as a tram/metro/bus pass is so cheap, you may as well pick on up when you get there for the length of your stay. It's about £6 for a week, £5 for 3 days and £2 for a day or 50p for 75 minutes. Get the 3 or 7 day pass and when ever you want to go anywhere you can be lazy and jump on a tram It's tram 22 to Vypich (according to the Prague clubs website), on the day, jump on the tram and follow the crowd Plenty of speedway fans on there, a great atmosphere on the way back to the centre after the meeting and some great conversations to be had with the Poles You may want to try and get to practice on the Friday (3pm) as your own practice for getting to the stadium. Definately get a travel pass. Worth their weight on gold. Those cobbles look lovely but they're a b!tch to walk on for a few days. How long you there for? Jenn
We are staying right on Wenceslas Square this year, stayed just around the corner last year but have gone for an apartment rather than a hotel as there's 7, maybe 8 of us going. We found the speedway stadium so easy to get to last year, it was the football stadium we had more trouble with!! The hardest part of the whole experience was trying to work the tram ticket machines ...
21st century heathen
Stayed at an apartment block at the top of Wenceslas Square (just behind the museum) last time I went. It's got to be the best location.

21st century heathen
I seem to remember not knowing that you had to punch it (to give it a start date/time) yourself for a day or two. The woman that sold it to us didn't tell us that. We just thought you had to show it if anyone asked to see it.

Are there any other meetings in the area over the course of the weekend?

I'd have Scotty at 50-1 over Bomber at 14's any day. I do honestly think that if Scotty is ever going to anything at a GP it will be this one. Any suggestions any where? Preferably somewhere that serves food too. Edited July 22, 2007 by SCB

If you stand in the corner by the astomomical clock and look into the square you will need to head across the square and to the left corner. You will find a cut through between the long line of street bars. Just in there is a building just on your left. you will need to go down the stairs. That is the sports bar and we have been in there before to watch the British final. Hope that helps.

gooner_girl4eva
I received my prague gp tickets recently and they were literally just an A4 piece of paper - is that what everyone else received?! I was expecting actual tickets like Cardiff & Wroclaw so just checking what I've received is genuine ;-) Can anyway recommend the best clubs to me?! I have never been before so any advice appreciated Edited July 22, 2007 by gooner_girl4eva
