SCB
Harris was a 25-1 shot for Cardiff, and although he won, if it was expected that the track there would suit his style, his odds wouldn't have even been half that. Some of us said from the start of the year we expected him to do well at Cardiff as he'd love the ruts and would use them to his advantage. Guess what? He did

Guess what? He did <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All credit to you then; I hope that you backed your judgement! My bet on Hampel at 66/1 bit the dust when Bomber took advantage of one of those very ruts in the re-run semi final. spin king
I think that I would keep the team as it, no need to change it, Nicholls and Harris pick themselves, add Rico who has a brilliant record in the WTC, and we hav a good top three. Because he is in good form this season I don't think that you can ignore Eddie Kennett, the main worry is Super Simon Stead, I am massive fan of his but his form seems to have dipped lately, but he is more experienced than Ollie Allen, so I would keep Ollie at reserve. 21st century heathen
OK, all you Armchair Managers Who would you pick? The youngsters aren't good enough! The more experienced riders are past it! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd have had Howe in the team with Olly, and Stead at reserve in my original line up. With Howe out I'd promote Stead to the team, and call in Louis. He has a great record over the years Coventry. As I've said elsewhere though, Kennett is in and I'll back him. I don't agree with his selection, and I have serious concerns about his form around Brandon. He was shockingly poor again on Monday night. As I said to Steve S and a couple of other Poole fans on Monday, I'm sure he'll work it out one day. I hope for our sakes it's this coming Monday. If he rides to form I expect him to be under threat from BJ, Renat, and Roman of the 'lesser' riders on show.

Chris Louis, Olly Allen and David Howe can only beat half decent riders on their home tracks. Kennett does it in Poland, Wolverhampton, Poole, Eastbourne, Rye House and probably nearly every track in the world except for bloody Coventry but does that mean he should be left out just because he has ridden the track a few times. In my opinion, B00105KS. I would rather Bridger or King than Louis.
21st century heathen
That's your opinion, and you're entitled to it. I have almost certainly seen more racing at Cov than you. The riders I name have the best record there. The record Ed has elsewhere is of no important whatsoever. What did he get last night?
21st century heathen
Povazhny is out. Darkin comes in. Don't know what the injury is. Hopefully nothing too serious. Great to see Darkin back on a bike after his crash a while back. http://www.speedwayworld.tv/en/news/a8116?...b6cb14dde8491ae
stevebrum
Agree he should be in Graham, he deserves his place but third best is a statement I cant agree with. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> on averages you cant do anything but!!! Anyway good luck for Monday boys, ill be there cheering on ALL the boys. GET WELL SOON HOWIE

SCB
Chris Louis, Olly Allen and David Howe can only beat half decent riders on their home tracks.Who care what they do on there home tracks, it what they do at Brandon thats important while Olly can only beat "half decent riders", Ed can only beat mediocre riders there, David Howe can beat decent riders and Louis can in one heat beat superb riders there and in another meeting lose to some pretty poor riders! Kennett does it in Poland, Wolverhampton, Poole, Eastbourne, Rye House and probably nearly every track in the world except for bloody Coventry but does that mean he should be left out just because he has ridden the track a few times. In my opinion, B00105KS.Nobody has argued that Kennett rides Poland good/bad. In fact, most have agreed that he should be in the 1-5 in Poland (find me a post anywhere that says different). I would rather Bridger or King than Louis. King around Coventry? HaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW, I notice Steady is proving he deserves his place in the SWC at Coventry!!! He's beat Nicholls, Allen and Harris in his first 2 heats (as a Team GB fans) (as a Coventry fan).
Rob B
For those questioning why Simon Stead had been picked, tonight at Coventry guesting for Peterborough he has won his first three rides beating Nicholls once and Harris twice! HaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!!!!!!!!!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Define the difference of mediocre and half decent? Anyway didn't Kennett beat Allen in one race and didn't he fall in the other whilst trying to pass Allen. We just have to agree to disagree but Kennett should definently be in the Poland team if they make it, with which they should and if we we beat Sweden will you stop moaning about Middlo. I would rather King and Bridger over Louis. It's called thinking for the future and I am sure Chris would happily step down.
BritPete
Jesus Chris. Who allows this guy to pick the team? Has he ever seen Ed at Brandon? Has he seen David at Brandon this year? David should be in ahead of Ed and Simon on current form. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> [/quo Well, SCB, it's just was well you ain't picking the team because you would look very silly right now! Middlo proved tonight that he got it spot on! It would have been absurd to leave out a proven international rider like Stead....And I said that BEFORE tonight! A few little stats here and there mean nothing, common sense prevailed here. David Howe was unlucky with his injury, but do you really think that he could match the effort of Stead tonight? Sorry, but no, he could not.
SCB
Define the difference of mediocre and half decent?Mediocre is not as good as half decent. Anyway didn't Kennett beat Allen in one race and didn't he fall in the other whilst trying to pass Allen.Yes, he beat him in on race and he did fall behind him if you consider that to be "whilst trying to pass" TBH, I can see why he's in ahead of Olly, but he should never have been in ahead of David Howe at Coventry. Academic now. We just have to agree to disagree but Kennett should definently be in the Poland team if they make it, with which they should and if we we beat Sweden will you stop moaning about Middlo.I've said all along that Ed should be in for Poland. Will I stop moaning about Middlo? No, because hes made mistakes every year, he can't take them back now, they've happened. I can think of one year he got everything right from rider choice to tactics was the year the final as in Denmark and he used Barker and Norris which I will admit were risks that paid off and for that year he deserve a lot of praise (and I gave it at the time too) I would rather King and Bridger over Louis. It's called thinking for the future and I am sure Chris would happily step down. It's no good constantly worrying about the future, as todays future will be tomorrows present, you'll then drop today future and use the next batch of youngsters so never actually using the riders when they're capable You have to use what you have now. I do agree with going with someone younger if there's not much in it, but not Louis/King difference!! King could not score on a good day at Brandon what Louis would on a bad day. Well, SCB, it's just was well you ain't picking the team because you would look very silly right now!Would I? David Howe was unlucky with his injury, but do you really think that he could match the effort of Stead tonight? Sorry, but no, he could not.So to turn it around, how good do I look after Fridays meeting when Ed was rubbish and beat 2 riders? Do you think David Howe would have done that? Simon would have still been in the team too, as I've said all along I'd pick Harris, Nicholls, Richardson (whos off form apparently ), Stead and Howe with Olly or Ed at reserve. As it is now, I'd probably have the team Middlo has defaulted due to Davids injury.

Same as usual. Don't get me wrong. He was very very good early on (see my match comments) but his form later in the meeting is a worry. His race cards at Brandon this season... 3 3 4 1 R 3 2 0 1 X 3 3 6 1 He tails off badly.
