Berwick Anniversary Meeting

Recommended Posts

There's a lot of thought to go into what to do with the future of the Bonanza 40th season bash... but once decided it will be released of course.

Dick Peter and Dennis did the bulk of the arrangments and work, I did my little bit too, but there was one hell of a lot of effort put into that night I can confirm for months by lots of folk!

When the rain started and the inevitable became blatently obvious it was genuinely heartbreaking for all concerned and I think the subsequent almost-tear-jerking feeling can only be out done in my speedway memories by Steve McDermott when he crashed out of the Fours Finals at Peterborough in the middle 80s for Berwick, shattering his leg to bits and keeping him out for over a year.

Having said that there was one revelation from Saturday night that came my way today that had me equally rolling around out of control with laughter. OHHH very very funny event, but if I'm to pop in on here I'll need the person in question's permission first.... stay tuned...

made up for a lot of the heartbreak believe me.

Cheers

Looks like Pepe won't be at Worky then if he's agreed to our meeting :P

In my opinion, the re-staging has a far better line up then the original... PW may not have a big star but he has got riders who are typically known for having a liking for Shielfield...

Looking forward to it :)

Have to say well done to everyone at Berwick to organise this for a second time.

It was gutting to turn up and see all the effort that had gone into making a special night, for the bloody rain to try and ruin everything.

The fact that so many stayed on after the postponement was announced showed how much had been done in addition to getting a quality line-up.

Let's hope it is as well supported (or better) a second time, and fingers crossed for the weather.

Anyone who didn't make it the first time - get along this time, it will be well worth it!

Best of luck to everyone at Berwick in getting this on . Please dont let the crappy weather we've had this summer spoil it again .

We really do start the season too early in this country .
