Liverstam
Isn't Avesta a very small village? Maybe people dont travel so easily to see the team now that TRick is gone. Avesta even sponsored TRick so he'd stay and ride for Masarna... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, being a small town is not always a bad thing. Look at Målilla which is absolutely tiny, I think around 1800 inhabitants, and always tops the attendance lists with crowds regularly around 5000 per meeting. For one there is no other team of any kind of pedigree in other sports in the region around Avesta, so no competition. I don't want to think it's all down to TRick but it kind of looks like it. tarabanko
But you cant blame all on Rickardsson either. There was many good years for Masarna with the riders: Antonin Kasper, Brian Andersen, Mirek Kowalik, Gary Havelock, Fredrik Lindgren, Bjarne Pedersen, Leigh Adams and of course Rickardsson. They are spoilt to been having the absolute world stars for many years and being up in the top of the table for long. Now Masarna are going through a generationchange and will have som dull years. Masarna had the biggest follow by 'success supporters' now then the success is gone the crowd is down in a bad way to. And maybe people got satisfied by the enormous success Masarna had over a short period with Swedish team gold as the icing on the cake. Just my thoughts! / Mikael Edited June 13, 2007 by tarabanko

Just my thoughts! / Mikael <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Think there's a lot of truth in that Mikael. The Avesta crowd probably lived through a serious hype during those succesful years between 98 and 05. Maybe they are spoilt with success and a little fed up with their speedway. Obviously not the die-hards but the general speedway going public. Will Masarna be able to turn this negative trend around - or will they sink back into the obscurity from which they came?

iris123
Very sorry to be so t-h-i-c-k Iris... I can't find them now!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Here is a tip for the future then.Do a search of your posts about Swedish speedway(specifically in the International section )and you will quite easily find your post asking for a web-site showing Swedish results.Click on that and you will be in the thread where the answers were given.
