Well Done Leigh!

Recommended Posts

Congratulations Leigh - Fantastic pass to take the victory. Well done to you and your team, all Robins fans behind you and apologies to my neighbours who must have been wondering what was going on when I was shouting the house down.

First of all let me congratulate Leigh on a very good race in the final. He had to see off Nicki in the first turn, shake off Freddie, and then make the move on Hans.

He was amongst the quickest riders all night, so it's not as though he suddenly clicked and stole it.

Finally, Leigh translates his league form in to a GP win. It's been a while now, and I wonder if he can kick on this season or whether it's another one-off (a bit contradictory but you know what I mean).

And my, didn't the Dane throw his dollies out of the pram and sulk.  Talk about a poor loser!

What a load of rubbish. If being annoyed with yourself for making a mistake (in his eyes) is a crime then he's guilty as charged. He said he moved out to cover an outside move by Leigh, as Leigh switched back. He was really angry with himself, and said nothing to take away praise for Leigh. He was clearly seen on the parade truck discussing it with Leigh. If he was a bad loser he would not have spoken to Leigh about it.

Hans could do with taking a few lessons! He was obviously annoyed at getting beaten but I thought he was his reaction was childish and in poor taste.

If he's angry with himself, why should he hide it? How is it childish and in poor taste?

Hans was obviously very angry with himself, understandably, he must have been gutted. Bit surprised though to see him turning away from the fans on the winning parade. But, as I said, must have been gutted, at least it shows real feeling.

Congratulations for coming out from under yer Rock, Wolf.

In answer to yer query, the 9-time Australian Solo Champ comes from somewhere south of Monmore Green.

You obviously don't get my humour old pal......this 'question' was in reference to Mr. Millards continual and annoying references to "The man from Mildura"

Personally, I have no doubt at all that Hans was completely embarrassed !

Only he knows what he was doing from lap 3 onwards, when he was slowing down all the time.

Last GP, second place must have felt like a win for Hans - tonight, second place was a disaster !

Quite agree Steve. I thought that Hans seemed a touch down on power all night but made good gates and rode clever lines to block attempts to pass him. I think that like everyone else, including Hans, that Lee would try the outside because of the track and Lee's usual style. He was caught out big style and I think Hans was embarrassed to have been caught out so easy. I think the accusations of 'sulking' are way off beam, just a professional rider being guilty of losing a GP through a simple own goal. :(

I got the impression he was still going over what had happened in his mind. He looked back along that back straight, and I get the feeling something like 'how did you do that?' was going through his mind. As soon as they'd gone a bit further round the track he did turn back to the fans and wave.
