iris123
Line-up I see a bit of progress has been made and we finally decided to enter into this Just wondering though.Nicki Glanz? How did he qualify?Surely we have stronger U19 riders to enter.I did see him last year in Denmark.Where is he riding this year and how is he progressing? Good luck to him.Looks like he will need a fair bit with the opposition. At least it is a start

Conkers
I think Nicki Glanz has dual nationality in that he has a Danish Father and an English mother, which means he can ride for either. I do think that the Danes probably entered him for the U19 AFAIK the ACU don't enter this competition, and that Thilo and Ottie may have been given duff info? Unless the UEM have got it wrong Edited May 26, 2007 by Conkers
iris123
He would be a strange entry for the DMU.They enter their riders into the Nordic round, plus they rely on places gained in last years U21/U19 Final. But maybe your right.Maybe he lobbied for his place. If he did fair play to the lad

As it appears he is Danish for this one and British for the CL which he could ride in as a Dane
Bavarian
In individual competition it does not matter what nationality he is. The nominations are from the respective federation that he holds a racing licence. In Glanz's case the ACU - he could be of Chinese or any other nationality, no problem. If the ACU has applied for one spot in this event and got it, they can decide which of their ACU licensed riders to send. It is a different matter in an international team event suchas the World Cup. Here it is the nationality (that's the passport he holds) to decide for which team he can ride, regardless of which federation's license he has. iris123
Yes of course. But it is more the issue of, have the ACU decided to enter this competition, seeing as they haven't before. And then you get the issue of youth development. If the ACU have decided to enter, why enter someone (possibly) from a foreign country.See Woffinden in the U21s.The issue here is a bit different to say,Holta entering the GP qualis through Norway,Ferjan and Hungary or some longtrack riders using a french or swiss nomination, where those countries haven't got enough or any riders of a decent standard. If Nicki has approached the ACU and got them to enter him, then as i said good luck to the lad. pjplymouthdevil
I do believe Nicki was picked for this event because the people involved have recognised his potential and massive points haul throughout the beginning of the speedway season. arnieg
At the Eastbourne staging of the British under 21 Championship it was stated that the top three scoring eligible riders would get places in the Euro under 19 championship. Glanz participated in that meeting. Perhaps the riders under 19 who finished above him did not wish to accept the nomination. If so he is there on merit as the British nomination. And good luck to him.

July 14 co-incides with Rye House rockets Northern Tour !!
