Rico
Cheers Mateusz. Really appreciate that. City hotel it is then! Maybe catch you there? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> More likely to catch him underneath the City Hotel in Chesterfields scouting the dancefloor (closely followed by me) Rico

Far from impossible but this yr's repertoire might be a bit different Edited July 7, 2007 by Mateusz

You may have to restrict your alcohoic intake but you WILL be there!!!!

Mateusz
Time to refresh this thread with some news. 100 tones of surface have been added onto the track. Hope they'll prepare it properly and we'll see some great action like last years. This year there won't be any "speedway party" in a sports hall after the practice on Friday. The organisers decided to spend more money on the whole show on Saturday night though (fireworks etc.). Not the worst decision IMHO as those Friday speedway parties were more dull every yr. And who cares actually - there'll be better things to do on Friday It will be 10th GP in Bydgoszcz, hopefully not the last one (proud to say I've been to every single one ). But Czestochowa and Zielona Gora would like to organise GP too and IMG (BSI or whatever) are going to announce their decision on Friday, Sep 7th. As we know for some time, the other GP in Poland will be held in Leszno. Pros and cons of these 3 cities: Bydg: +the legendary atmosphere and a superb track, +airport, +me -a bit sh!ttie stadium (but going to be rebuilt soon!) Czewa: +great, newly rebuilt stadium -no airport, average nightlife probably Zielona: +nice, renovated stadium (with a low capaity tho') -no airport, poor nightlife I'm afraid (Tommy..?), Falubaz fans would buy all tickets before you found out they were already on sale Keep your fingers crossed for Bydgoszcz. I'll be missing Wroclaw much, even despite their dull track. So many good memories. Edited August 17, 2007 by Mateusz

BSI were in town few weeks ago to check out the facilities and the area. The stadium is still awaiting the second phase of renovations where there are plans to expand the stadium to 20,000...but as with most tracks in Poland it's owned by the municipality so there is still a lot of red-tape bulls..t to get thorugh... Night life is not bad ... but of course nothing close to what Wrolcaw/Poznan. Commuting is the biggest problem as the closest airports are in Worclaw and Poznan (140km away) and Berlin (170km). From what I hear tho is that ZG has a very good chance of hosting the GP Challange in 2008.

Sandie
Ostrow have just taken it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Matt Could you make it clearer for an old girl like me - can you confirm that Ostrow, is the same stadium that we will be visiting fo the Under 21's and that they have been confirmed as having the 2008 Polish GP. Mateusz
No, Ostrow (the stadium that you will be visiting for the Under 21's ) have been confirmed as having 2008 GP Challenge (Grand Final or how they call it).

Mateusz
What I've just heard is that there's only about 3000 tickets left. Sold-out guaranteed! Just one week woooo !
Mateusz
It will be 10th GP in Bydgoszcz, hopefully not the last one (proud to say I've been to every single one ). And now I can announce it won't be the last GP in Bydgoszcz (let's say for 98%) I wasn't supposed to write about it earlier but one of local newspapers has got a leak and now it's not a big secret anyway The new contract between the city of Bydgoszcz and IMG is to be signed for 3 years and hopefully it will happen this Friday. This requires some serious conversion of the stadium and all things being well it's gonna start off in a close future too.
