KIDS HEAD FOR POLAND

Former rider Mick Poole will head up a 10 strong team of riders and fathers heading for the Under 16 World Champion ships at Czestochowa in Poland. They leave on June 27 and return in Mid July. There will be 6 youngsters from down under competing and MA has kindly arranged matching race suits for the riders.

Any Poms going?

If you mean Pommie riders...? Then the answers 'No' - we don't have 80cc racing

It'll be the usual...Danes (mostly), Swedes, Aussies and Poles...and maybe one or two others.

Some great racing between the top kids, usually, I've gotta say B)

Although I don't think the Polish tracks are well suited to 80cc racing. It works much better with banked tracks where gaining speed from the different lines makes up for the lack of pulling power.

The young kids from Oz had never been on an 80cc bike before they arrived in Denmark last year Steve. They got there early and got a bit of practice in and surprised everyone. One of the Dads was telling me the trainer(i think it was Clausen)was holding his head in his hands telling the kids "No,You are doing it all wrong!" After two had qualified for the Final, one Danish dad came up and said "How did you mange that?We have been trying for a few years to qualify and not made it" And all that with very little official help from Australia. The attitude of the families and the riders was superb and i do feel it tells you something that they are willing to spend so much time, effort and money to get this done, whereas we haven't entered anyone.

Last year there was even an entry from the US and that hot bed of speedway France.
