Cracking meeting, Holder, how on earth did he stay on his bike? Track should have been graded earlier, although I can understand why they held off watering it (probably still got a hosepipe ban in place). Well done to all the riders, I hope they aren't feeling too battered & bruised. :D

Paulco fight?? Nah no way
I agree. I only chatted to him briefly for a few minutes Friday, Saturday and Today but we had a laugh eevrytime and anyone who is a friend of Dai Lagers has to be pretty cool :D

The fact he is loved by a few Newport fans says a lot, who'd have ever through Newport and Glasgow fans could be friends?! :D

Ricky also took a few heavy falls and might be carrying knocks but you can bet he has already get excuses lined up for some expected shockers coming up at Lynn and Drye House.

Ricky will never duck a meeting unless he cant ride , infact if you look at the stats for the last five seasons he has only missed two meetings for sheffield ,If ricky does crap at both meetings so be it he wont be on his own the rest of the team is just as bad at those tracks ,

suprisingly good meeting considering the conditions(didnt think we would get a meeting at all),and well done to the riders for giving it a real good go(bet theres a few sore limbs and heads tonight however!)tremendous riding from holder, how he held on to the bike on a couple of occasions, was well impressive,

On a separate issue-many thanx to everyone who signed the petition to help bring back the heathens-not a single refusal, which speaks volumes regarding the tremendous spirit of the GB speedway community :)

amazing meeting today. holder was a different class whilst i thought fisher deserved a hell of alot more. told silver bee that holder was the man to beat and i was right.

nice to meet up with the two northern hooligans paulco and tsunami.

cracking meeting though and some of the racing was cracking.

holder, as great a rider he is, needs to calm it though. he wont have a long career riding that wild thats for sure

For all the critisism I have given Newport Speedway over the years, one thin I cannot fault at all is that if it's not raining at start time, the meeting will go ahead, simple as.

pinny ,somebody else also commented he`s either gonna be world champion or dead.i for one certainly hope it`s not the latter
Two words, Chris Harris.

Were you standing with Pinny's dad at the time cause i made that comment to him .

What a wonderful meeting though . I'm not normally too keen on these individual things and i was gutted when our meeting at Mildenhall was called off , but all feelings of disappointment were forgotten once this started .

Got to the track at about 11:30, and as myself and Mr Lager were getting stuck into our opening pints,i made the comment that this didn't have a chance of going ahead . The track had puddles at the 3rd bend and looked really heavy . How the hell it managed to get dusty later on i'll never know .

As regards the racing , a bit eventful to say the least , but very, very entertaining .

I know Chris Holder is a special talent , but defying gravity is the latest string to his bow . How the hell he managed to stay on the bike on the 3rd bend - well it was just amazing . You can never get enough of watching that guy ride a speedway bike .

A fantastic end to a terrific weekend . Always a pleasure to mix with the Newport fans - Tanya ,Heather, Garbin ,Reckless Eric , SCB , Pinny - see you all next season ( unless we meet in the Young Shield ) . Also great to meet up with my old mate Tsunami and his lovely family , Kev H and Joanne ( it was fantastic to meet you both and i really enjoyed your company at Somerset once i eventually got there ) . Also it was fantastic to speak to one of my boyhood heroes and Glasgow legend Jim McMillan . But a special thanks for Saturday and Sunday to my good mate Dai Lager - you're a gentleman sir . :D

So, That would be SCB and Silver Bee 1 and Tsunami 0  The rule has changed so Ryan was cheated of 5 points, 3 for having an EF while leading after someone fell and 2 for falling after someone else fell.

Not a bad meeting, considering the weather forcast.

Great to meet Tsunami again, always a pleasure, as it was to meeting Paulco (for the 3rd time in 3 days  Tsunami, Paulco, SCB, Silver Bee and Pinny on one bend it's a suprise a fight didn't break out at some point  I'm sure Buzzy Bee would have sorted us out if it had.

Hoi. I said the result was as the ref put the red lights on and only those under power were in the frame. Tsunami 1 Confused of Newport nowhere. I will call my first witness Bubbly Buzzy(the missus). :D

Anyway, seeing as you have said, I suppose I have got to say it was great to see you again in the excellent company of Silver Bee, Buzzy Bee, a friend, the majestic Pinny and occasionally Paulco between pee and beer breaks. All we needed was KevH with us and it would have been like Happy Families.

Pleased to see the Pole was OK after his hit on the pits gate. Everyone is concerned about the headbutt on the fence. When you think what happens to the rider when the bike stops in zero seconds it is his crown jewels that are at serious risk. There's no helmet there, well I know there is but not the same type that there is on his head. :o

Pleased the meeting went ahead. When Paulco went in for his taster, he did think that it was difficult to see how it was going to be on. It dried out quickly and seriously need a few mini sprays from Paulco to keep the track dust down and add a bit of grip.

Nice to pick up again with Lubos and of course Byron, Jackie, Jade and friends.

Shame about the crowd, the field deserved better but I suppose the weather put some off.

:blink::blink:
