Well there definitley is going to be a Welsh Open this year as hadn't heard much so far about it but found this on Newport Website.

2007 Welsh Open Championship

Sunday 1st July, 1PM

Riders confirmed for this meeting so far:

• David Howe - Wolverhampton

• Sam Simota - Reading

• Andy Smith - Oxford

• Ricky Ashworth - Sheffield

• Chris Holder - Island

• Leigh Lanham- Lakeside

Presume there will be Morris, Schramm, Atkin, Hedley and Rajkowski in the line-up which leaves 5 places to be filled!!

Nothing ever gets advertised at Newport!! But the Welsh Open is sure to be a good one now that we have lost out Friday night.

Hopefully Michal will be a good match to David Howe when he returns to defend his trophy.

Even though it's what most Newport supporters would dearly like to see - Craig Watson racing around his own track - I think our efforts would be in vain. I don't think we'd be able to budge anyone on this one.
