marron
Would expect that the wildcard will be David Howe. It's the right move to reward the riders with the position that they acheive and it may make the racing a bit more competitive.
Bobbin' Along
This whole question now seems academic. If the proposal is accepted by the SGP, then the wildcard will be the British Champion, unless that's Chris Harris or Scott Nicholls, in which case the place will go to the next highest placed rider. The reserve berths will be made up of the next two placed riders.

Maddas69
Why does it have to be an English rider? What about Australians? It is not fair that they can't get a wildcard just because they don't have a GP. I was thinking about Rory Schlein. Alot of fans would support him. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Schlein would be a good choice. BTW: It is not up to Middlo, he will be consulted but BSI/FIM/Ole will make the call

stevebrum
Thank god! End of speculation. the only one who DESERVES it will be the rider who finishes highest of the non GP Brits. GO HOWIE!!!!!
hagonshocker
Good desicion! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lets face it they need something worthwhile for the fans in what is now imho a far less prestigious title than it used to be...
847084
I have ploughed through the thread with patience. Kennett or Stead? No mention of David Howe who has an average higher than both. He is the top Brit behind Nicholls and Harris. Fact. I know that the top scorer on monday will be given the wild card. I also expect that if it is David Howe many will explain it by saying 'home track advantage.' The fact remains though, he is currently having a better season than either Kennett or Stead. Both are good riders who I would be happy to support in the British GP. But let's be a little less blinkered please.
shazzybird
I'll bring my HA Racing cap over for you.......... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks but I can make myself look an ass as it is without help I know that the top scorer on monday will be given the wild card. I also expect that if it is David Howe many will explain it by saying 'home track advantage.' But let's be a little less blinkered please. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So it's Howes home track do you really not think that this will give home advantage then ........ come on let's not be blinkered here, we all have our favourites Edward and Lewis are mine so why would I want Howe or Stead as a Wildcard for the GP same as any Howe/Stead fan wanting Lewis or Edward there
Eastie
Dont forget Lewis rode at Cardiff 2 years ago aged 15 before the meeting and was only 0.2 seconds slower than the heat 1 time .

My comment about blinkers referred to the first few pages of this thread. I thought I made that pretty clear.
lupus
Would we even be having the conversation about David's home track advantage though if he was having the same sort of nightmare season as last year? The fact is that he is most definatly on form at the moment and if he gets the wildcard then so be it. When Monmore was announced as the venue I don't remember any posts talking about David's home track advantage.....Ah but that was becasue it was 'assumed' by many that David would be averaging 4 points rather than 8+!!!! London Witch
I've just put on the other thread that I'd like Simon Stead to get the wild card as I feel hes most deserving but I wouldn't be disappointed if David got the spot as he is riding so well this season. I didn't realise his average was that good, so he must be doing well at other track's other than just Wolves (and Ipswich ).
Trees
Lee Richardson might get it yet hahahaha

If i were David I'd be more peed off that I'd got to ride for the wildcard place....every other year he'd have been first choice on account of his current average! Average wise he is streets ahead of Stead (7.39) and Kennett (7.78)!

847084
He is the most deserving British rider for the wildcard. Consider the opprobrium heaped upon him over the last few years. He has performed minor miracles this year. Celebrate the bloke's guts and determination.
London Witch
A final with Bomber, Hans, Nicki and Howie. How good would that be!!! Well done David. You deserve it
