SCB
If it was not for a dodgy exclusion last night, Olly Allen would have scored a maximum. How can anyone scoring an EL maximum (or nearly doing it) be dismissed for a SWC meeting at that track?! Some people seem to be forgetting that we "Cov boys" have watched a fair bit of speedway at Brandon so know who's good there and who's not. SCB
So, looking at say the Denmark team, who out of for instance, Hans, Nicki, Jesper, Charlie G and Kenny Bjerre are you putting your money on Olly beatting exactly??? Around Coventry? Jesper, Charlie and Kenneth are all beatable. To be fair, can you see Ed beating Hans or Nicki anyway? BTW, you also forgot Puk and Bjarne So he Danish team is likely to be Nicki, Hans, Bjarne, Puk and Kenneth. Honestly, who can you see Ed Kennett beating? He scored 4 at Coventry this season, hardly strikes fear!! Olly or Ed, not a lot of difference, the major one being Olly CAN and HAS and DOES jumo out of the gate form time to time and beta someone he probably should not at Coventry, Ed doesn't. Leave Ed for Poland where he'll probably be in the 1-5, while at Covenry, have Olly as the reserve.
essaitch
Around Coventry? Jesper, Charlie and Kenneth are all beatable. Would that be the Jesper that scored 16 (?) at Cov last week? To be fair, can you see Ed beating Hans or Nicki anyway? BTW, you also forgot Puk and Bjarne Blimey, it's worse than I thought!! So he Danish team is likely to be Nicki, Hans, Bjarne, Puk and Kenneth. Honestly, who can you see Ed Kennett beating? He scored 4 at Coventry this season, hardly strikes fear!! In fact who, other than Scott and Chris can you really see competing anyway??
SCB
Simon Stead is pretty hot at Coventry when he's got things working well and Lee Richardson always performs well for Team GB can CAN ride Coventry well. Yes, Jesper scored 16, but he didn't beat Olly
21st century heathen
We all know the score in this seasons WTC anyway. The Danes are the strongest in the world right now, but the Poles have a fantastic chance of winning in their own back yard again. That doesn't mean we shouldn't make a fight of it. On form, Olly is a better option than Ed around Brandon. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I probably wouldn't believe it either. Hopefully we'll be in a stronger position in a few years, but at the moment we are between eras'. We have the Mark, Chris L, Joe, and Floppy group on the way down (although Mark can still do the business in the WTC when fit). Then we have the likes of Scott and Lee as established GB riders, Chris H and Simon coming through. David H and Olly may be in the middle age bracket, but are young enough to still make a break through to become solid scorers (as mentioned good at Brandon as well). Then the likes of Ed, James, Lewis to look to for the future.
wolves_2005
Going on current and previous form, I would be tempted to have Richardson at reserve. Give him a meeting with added presure and he's done (GP-Itis) I think for Brandon it would have to be: Harris Nicholls Howe Stead Lee / Ed Don't really think Bridger or Tai (Australian) should be in as it is a big thing for the younger ones, although, with the above team, Lee and Scott are the oldest, the rest are still young and still have a long time ahead. Olly for backup at Brandon. Floppy has not really ridden much this season so could be a bit rusty, same with Barker.

speedibee
Why? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sandhu won't let brandon be used unless he promotes the meeting ,thats why we don't have british final, pl riders champs, or any other big meetings there now like we used to

Give him a meeting with added presure and he's done (GP-Itis) Have you ever watched a SWC? IMO, there no doubt about it, Lee is Tea, GB's number 1 SWC rider, he always raises his game, scores good points and pulls off some stunning passes! Even last year when he was at his lowest point he had a reasonable SWC. The top 4 is certain, Scott, Bomber, Stead and Richardson. I'd then say Howe is a certainty for the 5th spot too but you never know with Ed riding for Poole, the team Middlo manages!
iris123
Why? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Think the idea is that you then select the top riders at the Final,as they obviously do well at Coventry

shazzybird
Lee is Tea, <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Look......... I keep reading this and I haven't a clue what you are going on about what does Lee is Tea mean?

I'll be backing the Aussies as usual, don't think the Poles are Top Dollar this year and we want revenge for last year, and the year before, and the year before that! As for the Danes we shall see, but man for man IMHO we can Flog 'em!

bazaar3
Olly Allen in the SWC team? Has this world gone mad? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My thoughts exactly. To put it another way, if it was hosted at Poole would the Poles pick Piotr Swist even though he has a super average around Poole and knows the track. No, they wouldn't. Exactly the same scenario with Olly. Reserve at best. Edited May 17, 2007 by bazaar3

Think the idea is that you then select the top riders at the Final,as they obviously do well at Coventry <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Brits, mostly, do very well at Monmore. Ever since the British Final was announced as being at Monmore I've said that I'm really looking forward to it for this very reason. Olly Allen in the SWC team? I doubt you'll find too many that think the Aussies can 'flog' the Danes man-for-man. (that just sounds sooooo wrong ) My thoughts exactly.
