Yorkshire Ace
Hi Can anyone give me the low down on the Marketa Stadium at Prague, what are the beer facilities like in the ground and price etc?
tyke
If you pay top price for Grandtsand tickets on the start/finish line beer is free !!!!!
Rob B
Good grief, how many topics are you going to start on Prague? There is plenty of beer stalls and its pretty cheap too, thats why there are so many Poles there.
SCB
I was appaled last year. It was 40 kronner outside the stadium for a pint (£1 give or take a little) yet inside they put the price up to 45 kronner!!

I don't ask you to reply, I just happen to create some topics to find out information, if it bothers you so much don't reply! I'm going for my stag doo with 12 lads so want to find out as much on the Prague GP from previous years so I can relay to the lads (most haven't been to speedway before) what we can expect. Any probs pm me
richsimpson
Prague GP is good. the city is nice and the beer is cheap. Will be good for a stag do, but dont get up to any naughties! The stadium is a fair trek away and is a tram ride but get yourself well prepared before you go and all will be well. most folk get a two day pass for the public transport which serves busses, trams trains, underground etc. The stadium is standing apart from the mainstand and is over run by the poles which is good, because for a lads night out, they are good for banter. Best of luck and enjoy Prague! get yourself well researched before you go! Edited May 2, 2007 by richsimpson

tyke
Do not I repeat do not get a taxi from the stadium back to the city centre.Last year me and the misses got a cab upto the stadium about a fiver, coming back hailed a cab the meter was spinning like a top and got charged £40 yes forty quid so please be aware. Wasn't going to pay the man and tell him to off and just pay a £5 he then produced a baseball bat. soon changed my mind !!! Just beware about that other than that a great city fairly cheap, clean and a different experience

Get out on the terracing, its concrete steps all the way round, good viewing from anywhere, get in the middle of all the Poles & Czechs and sample the atmosphere. PS I've been 4 times and its only rained once, even if you sit in the grandstand its not under cover anyway!
whowasthatberntpersson
I was there for the Tomasz Lubocek Memorial last year. The Tram ride from the centre of Prague isn't too bad but as someone else said its a fair way out..plenty to see along the way though. Once you get there, have a beer in the pub opposite the entrance...the dark ale is good....its all cheap, but the place gets packed. It was October when we went and it was the coldest I've ever been at speedway anywhere......they sold hot alcoholic drinks (Czech Rum and Hot water I think)...they did help a little. We were on the first bend...sitting near Jiri Stancl and a couple of other former Czech riders. Prague is a fantastic place but the Marketa looked a poor venue for a GP.
