lucifer sam
Rumours for those going to Lonigo that pre meeting entertainment will come from the legendary "Carlo e Davido". No doubt spectators will all join in with the classics: "Coniglio", "Borda Laterale", "Nessun soddisfacendo voi" and "Gertcha"!!!! Quanto meraviglioso. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mr. Snackette, Will "Carlo e Davido" not also be performing: "canzone del sideboard" (Hmmm... can't find a Italian translation for Snooker Loopy... mind you, it didn't stop listing Gertcha!!) All the best Rob
Nevs
Well if they listened to you over that, send another email telling them thanks but no thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hark at you !!!! Didnt work for your Sky TV adverts you film star you- sent 20 emails asking them to pull you off the screen. If 20 emails asking for that dont work I hardly feel one asking for Chas N Dave to be replaced will have much effect Think about it. Love you really Edited April 21, 2007 by Nevs
Sandie
If you want to hook today's youngsters on Speedway then you need a current band and music. With 40,00 people in the stadium I'm sure some of today's young singers or bands could be tempted to perform. You will never please everyone whoever you choose, but let's bring Speedway up-to-date! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would rather a 'lesser' listed act and what small pot of money there is be ploughed back into speedway, rather than pay squliions for a 'current star' which a large crowd of us 'oldies' would rather not hear as they scream and holla into their microphones!!!!! TBH, I don't know why they bother witha live act, they'd be better of playing some decent recorded music (thats all they did for Suzi Quattro anyway!) Noodles
Maybe they will be positioned permanently in the centre green and any time there is a crash they will strike up with 'wallop - he's gone down'
Mad Mitch
I think C & D isnt a bad choice if you must have a live band. Although I would be just as happy with the Royal Marines, the Bathgate & Tophichen pipe band and the Black Dyke Mills band. If you want singing at the Millenium Stadium go to the rugby, its great. Chris-P
I reccon a good choice of warm up act would be the Proclaimers..... They are enjoying a bit of a revival at present and 500 miles is an anthem, always has been, even gets 700 people in a nightclub singing along..always has done, and im talking the original, not the new peter kay version........ I think they would go down well,... speedway fans love thier anthems after all

poolepirate
Well I guess Chas 'N' Dave is slightly better than Right Said Fred who would probably have been singing a little number entitled "I'm to Sexy for my Speedway Bike"

Pollyanna
I can proydly say that I have paid to see Chas and Dave live - Bournemouth Pier Summer 2004 Guaranteed to get everyone singing like it or not. Legends!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was there, too. Wasn't keen on going, but really enjoyed it, so don't mind seeing them again in Cardiff. philfromcov
Poor pre-meeting entertainment, poor track and poor racing - why would anyone want to attend? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> sorry this isnt a Poole thread is it?
Robyn1972
Chas 'n' Dave played at the great british Beer festival a couple of years back. We were upstairs in the staff rest area on a break when they came on....so heard most of it, and in a fit of curiosity wandered over the look down from the balcony to see a MASSIVE number of people all boogeying along and thoroughly enjoying it! They must have something, although I'm not sure what! Makes no odds to me - we never make it from the pub into the stadium in time to see any of the warm up stuff anyway!
