A massive Crowd of 2.800 visitors saw some cracking racing at Herxheim/Germany Australian Chris Holder was the Winner of the U21 Qualification round at Herxheim/ Germany. Second Place went to Pavel Hlib ahead of Slovenian Martin Vaculik. He beat Austrian Friedrich Wallner, who rode impressive, in an run off for third place. Other qualified riders are Adrian Gomolski/ Poland, Matej Küs/ Czech Republik and Frank Facher/ Germany. Qualified reserve rider for Semi-finals is Richard Speiser/ Germany. Bad luck for local rider Max Dilger who had engine failures and had an excluded fall whilst leading. He lost eight points, caused by engine failures.

You good people at herxheim deserved a big crowd for all the hard work making sure the meeting passed by without a hitch. Well prepared track, plenty of good racing, excellent catering <well priced too>, and all for 9 euros. I hope the F.I.M. give you another world meeting in the near future, you deserve it. On the racing front, the highlight for me was the performance of the unknown Martin Vaculik. This boy is gonna be a star, and whats more will be well suited to british tracks if yesterday is anything to go by, as the herxheim track is the only british type track i've ever seen on the continent. British promoters take note, herxheim is not a speedway area, yet 2800 turned up yesterday, why? because it only cost 9 euros to get in.

Nordhastedt has a very british-like shape... (hopefully iris123 will 2nd that, haha) I'd say it's a bit like rye house, though it has longer bends... (292 metres). Before Herxheim and Berghaupten has there speedway tracks built it was the only one in germany that was very british. No wonder why the english riders always did well there in the past. My dad always tells me tales when they were staging an U21 world semi/quarter(?)-final back in the 80's. When the brits arrived a day before (young chris louis and mark loram I believe) they took a look at the track, decided to skip the practise and went to the nearby beach instead.... I can't remember how they finished but they made it through with ease... :D

Yes your right.Nordhastedt is a British track abroad. It could fit into the middle of Brokstedt :D Although Güstrow is about the same length it is almost a circle(the way it is ridden anyway).Nordhastedt was built with a British style track in mind.Saying that,i am hoping to get to Wittstock this year which is totally different and is based on Pardubice. And they will be having 6 rider heats as well :D

never did well on big tracks (apart from brokstedt, cause I call it a "small track in disguise") :D
