TigerWolf
And they need the beggar to make money? They're even worse at promotion than I could ever have imagined. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You seem an intelligent (if misguided!) person but do you really think Sky would be so bothered about screening live coverage of SGP if there were no British rider involvement? It's not a case of the series 'needing' Scott but what it does need is British involvement to continue to build its profile in the UK which must be one of the key markets for the SGP 'product'. British riders in the series mean more column inches in the press, more tickets sold for Cardiff and more interest from broadcasters. Simple business economics really. As others have said, isn't it time to cut out this 'beggar' crap anyway? Unless you're 14 years old or something you really ought to grow up a little. Probably did beg for the offer anyway. As I recall, he was soon saying he felt he deserved another go on Planet Speedway.

Anyway, If he's offered the place, why should he refuse and sit at home watching on the TV like the rest of us? It seems your problem should be more with the promoters than with the individual riders. Aside from getting to compete with the best riders in the world it must be worth plenty of sponsorship money to him as well. He's not likely to refuse is he? We're in the twenty-first century now you know. And, by the way, me thinks isn't all one word.

The beggar said, when he decided that the qualification process was beneath his exalted status as the princeling of British speedway, that if he couldn't qualify via the GPs, on merit, it would mean he didn't deserve to be in the GPs. For that reason, if he had a single shred of decency or integrity, he'd have refused any offer of a place. But he chose to beg and bring shame on himself and British speedway. Would you be so good as to remind me how many GPs Hans Andersen missed last season? I've completely forgotten. But I remember that he finished a lot higher than your beloved beggar. And he didn't see the qualification process as being beneath him either.

You don't, fair enough but i think the whole beggar thing is out of order. It's Friday the sun is shining and the pub is calling. We shall see how Scotty gets on tomorrow. But the Italian GP is such poor entertainment, I'll be at Berwick, since it's never been worth watching the Lonigo action so far. It's not quite as bad as Cardiff or Denmark, but it's still very poor.

Thought you had quite a bit of knowledge about the sport. But to dismiss Wielsaw Jagus as "totally out of his depth" is not something I would do with much confidence. After all, this is a man who made the final in his sole GP appearance last season.
