KevH
ok...here's another one for you Kev... do you have the date and records of the junior grand slam/grand prix in 1986? Blimey Steve, now you're asking - this any good? May 9th - Canterbury Andrew Silver 15 Trevor Banks 12 Paul Evitts 12 Paul Woods 12 Kevin Brice 11 Kevin Smart 10 Mike Spink 10 Carl Chalcraft 8 Rob Tilbury 7 Jeremy Luckhurst 6 Honey Hone 4 Kevin Teager 4 Jimmy Goodsell 4 Richard Pettman 1 Steve Masters (res) 2 Warren Mowat (res) 2 And Steve, it was the Grand Slam - don't go telling people you used to be a Grand Prix rider  :clown
stevehone
no sorry Kev... that's not the one. the meeting above was called the Grand Slam and was in 1987. in 1986 they run a big tourny for juniors and called it the Junior Grand Prix. it was set out that we got a couple of qualifying rounds and the top points scorers went through to a grand final somewhere. my 2nd round was supposed to be at Exeter which i was really looking forward to, but at the last minute it was swapped to Eastbourne :x i had a run-in with Kevin Pitts in my 2nd or 3rd ride at Eastbourne and went head on into the fence, and so missed out on scoring. sidecar121
Jimmy Goodsell. I remember him well... Jimmy went on to be a passenger for Bill Beecham on grass. I recall him getting upset many times when his "pristine condition" white leathers got dirty.

shazzybird
Was @ Rhodes Minnis on Sunday, met up with Raven who had bought along some of his old scrap books for Sidecar121. Well........me being nosy just had to have a look, the memories came flooding back of years ago, Pictures of Barney, Uncle Ted, Graham Miles, Graham Banks, Dave & Martyn Piddock, Merv Salt my god so many faces from the past some happy memories in the books. Got a bit choked at seeing some of the clippings but then that's me bladder to close to my eyes Hopefully it wont be too long before some of the footage will be added to the Canterbury website by Sidecar. Rami I'm think Raven said that Kevin Brice is in Middlesborough will have to ask him again, was talking about so much I can't really remember all of what was said! I'm working on but, I'm having a few probs with my scanner. I've tried hitting it, this gets it going for a few mins it then makes a few grunting noises and stops again. Technology  Bah!!! I'll do a re-install of the drivers and see if that helps. In the meantime please be patient...
