Need Info On The Film; Britannia Of Billingsgate

Has just finished reading Speedway Special; the classic legends by John Chaplin and it was a good book.

In the book the film Britannia of Billingsgate is on a few pages and it is intresting in the way that the film included some speedway from New Cross and Crystal Palace with the legends Ron Johnson, The late Tom Farndon and Colin Watson.

I need to know if there is any who are having the film? Would be great to see.

Many thanks

/ Mikael

I've written an article on 'Money for Speed' in this month's 'The Speedway History Magazine' (e-mail oriolecy@btinternet.com for details of how to subscribe or purchase single issue).

The following month, 'Britannia' will feature.

And who knows, the series of Speedway in the TV & Movies may eventually get to 'Honest'...!!!

And i think Parsloes, ignoring your posts is what most people do ;)

Have you actually seen the films in question before doing your "articles"?And if so can you copy them and send Tarabanko and me a dvd? :P

Such bitterness..: mind you, I can understand it as clearly that Charm School you enrolled in really ripped you off...!! :D

So norbold has seen all the riders and teams he writes about too has he..??!!

I've met him and though admittedly he's a bit of a nervous car passenger, he's not THAT old...!! ;)

I have read the article and found it interesting anyhow.

Most of the items in the series of books would interest anyone who appreciates the History of Speedway.

And "poor old Norbold" has never claimed to have seen all the "Farndons" of this World has he????

And he is only old in knowledge

Thanks Parsloes. I don't know what you mean "nervous". Just because I was under the seat after the fourth or fifth red light you ignored...er...I was looking for a coin I'd dropped...

If only...Tom Farndon...sigh...
