Sure you are right on that.Just still strange that Posa was introduced to the crowd on the parade then on going back to the pits was checked by the Doc.Maybe you are right with the "mind games" bit

Edit:Just seen it posted on the Russian forum, that Bulankin has broken "Cervical vertebrae" is the translation

According to the Wife (who is a nurse) the cervical vertebrae is in the neck. Depends which one as to how serious it is, but it could be a stable fracture or an unstable fracture (after that my eyes glazed over as she went into medical speak!). Depending on treatment it could be serious.

Really looking forward to seeing this on www-tv...

Their viewing figures should be quite high for out of country viewers then!

Lets hope it isn't too serious.

Was really surprised at the quality of the pictures yesterday. What a great service that is.Pity none of the german channels seem to do anything similar,as i missed the report from Inzell on tv. :(

Franky has a chance of making the A Final.Only Arkhipov a real threat in his heat

I stayed online yesterday after the broadcast. They had news and other stuff and then sports again. They interviewed one english speaking spectator too, an older gentleman with white mustache telling how they came via Moscow. So they have international viewers on site too.

Just checked that Aakko had 19 GP points last year after 2/4. This time he might come up with probably 12 after 2/6. But who knows about his rides in Assen and Berlin...

Standings (after 2 rounds)

1 Ivan Ivanov Rus 50

2 Nikolai Krasnikov Rus 38

3 Mikhail Bogdanov Rus 38

4 Vitali Khomitsevich Rus 32

5 Franz Zorn A 28

6 Danil Ivanov Rus 26

7 Stanislav Archipov Rus 22

8 Stefan Svensson S 22

9 Sergej Baltachev Rus 18

10 Marcus Skabraut A 14

11 Harald Simon A 13

12 Antonin Klatovsky CzR 13

13 Dmitri Bulankin Rus 12

14 Antti Aakko SF 12

15 Johnny Tuinstra NL 11

16 Gunther Bauer D 8

17 Max Neidermaier D 5

18 Per Olof Serenius S 0

Unexpected leader after two rounds in Ivanov, but I think he has a point to prove after sitting out last year in that pointless dispute in Russia.

With the next two meetings on the softer artificial tracks of Assen and Berlin, can Franky spring a surprise and get on the rostrum?

Looking forward to the next broadcast this afternoon, just hope that the fans stop getting in the way of that start line camera :D

Aakko was in a hurry but said that things just didn't work out for him this weekend. He was glad he got that point yesterday that enabled him to win the D-final which he did today too. He will ride in Assen on the saturday which is good news.

Serenius suffers from high blood pressure and is on medication for that, and it is written in his license as a somesort of special clause. They had no other options but not to let him ride.

Bit of a stop start coverage which spoiled it a little. I didn't manage to see a complete race without interruption, unlike yesterday when it ran for the full time without breaks, stops or buffering problems.

Still it looked a good meeting and I think Zorn will do well when it rolls into Assen in two weeks.

Hope Posa rides, as if he misses the championship through illness, he won't be able to celebrate his 31st consecutive World Championship series, which must be a first.

Ivanov does look the man to beat this year. Does he have a point to prove?

Erm.....(Shuffles feet in embarrassment) Quite right, it's his 30th consecutive World Championship this year, I dug out my 2002 article on him in Speedway star (23.2.2002) and he started riding in 1976, entered the World championship in 1977, but qualified for his first world final in 1978. My mistake!

(Put it down to having such a great time at the HammerFall gig on Friday night!)

Line up for Assen 10/11.3.2007

1 Günther Bauer D

2 Mikhail Bogdanov Rus

3 Dmitri Bulankin * Rus

4 Antonin Klatovsky CzR

5 Harald Simon A

6 Daniil Ivanov Rus

7 Franz Zorn A

8 Stefan Svensson S

16 Nikolai Krasnikov Rus

R17 Max Niedermaier D

R18 Per Olov Serenius S

* Dmitri Bulankin may not ride due to his injury in which case Neidermaier moves up and there is a standby reserve to replace him.

EDIT: Looking at the scorers from the Semis, Younir Baseev could be the favoured reserve - Russian for a Russian, although Tommy Flyktman could also be considered, and he will be in Assen for the Friday meeting.

(from Speedway.org)

As with the first rounds, the reserves will replace the 15/16th placed riders on Day 2 (unless of course one of them is Johnny Tuinstra, in which case the rider (s) above him will be replaced by the reserves.)

It would appear that he becomes a wildcard on the Sunday if he finishes 15/16th according to one of the ladies from the Assen organising committee.

Some bizarre refereeing today,

In the A Final, Bulankin left the track, then Ivanov fell. Both excluded, Khomitsevich fell in the rerun Khomitsevich fell so Krasnikov won by default.

EDIT: Results amended
