semion
with the weather forecast as it is, will this meeting even start... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if it doesnt, it could be a well expensive night for the BSPA.......and for the re-staging how many people will want to shack all the way to Somerset, ?.....The idea is good to do it while the Grand Prix is on, but for a one of meeting, its not so great.....maybe if it does get rained off, they could hold it at a different track..... Maybe Kings Lynn Mind, i guess if they held it at Hoddesdon, that would be one way to ensure that Rye House turned up this year . Joanne
Hopefully the weather will be ok on Friday. At the moment its for showers during the day. I have already got my ticket from the rained off meeting at Peterborough. If it does get rained off, I can see myself having too much scrumpy
The Third Man
What was the weather like yesterday, and if t it is going to be off will they call it off early enough for us not to travel / cancel hotel bookings or will it be like the fours and let people in in the full knowledge there was never going to be a meeting
Brummie Kev
This meeting is an absolute farce , why is it at somerset and not a neutral venue like the elite pairs was. Theres a clear advantage for zetterstrom and kramer knowing the track more then the other riders. The sooner the super seven series is scrapped the better. Speedwaystevemk2
I have no doubt's the event will go ahead the track can take a lot of water , ez and his team will get sorted and 2 day working party to get the place looking good . So Somerset friday , GP sat and Newport Sunday and a feast of speedway with 50 miles , don,t knock it just enjoy it . I for one would not say Zorro and kramer are fav they need to get there starting boots on , after the last couple weeks of watching them As to the venue will you get your promoter to step forward next year and offer to run it , so hoping now that watto is in the line up we will welcome the newport fans as well . ps you have to pay to get home as well
DW
Looking at the Rye House side tonight,it looks like they will struggle to track 2 riders again this year(but I bet they DO)!!!
Drew
Looking at the Rye House side tonight,it looks like they will struggle to track 2 riders again this year(but I bet they DO)!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Rye don't turn up then the Somerset B pairing of Simon Walker and Danny Warwick would upset a few on current form! The weather was poor here on Monday morning but since then has been ok and as SpeedwayStevemk2 said the track drains weel and I have no doubt that the meeting will be on. The car park might be fun if we get too much more wet stuff, don't think it will get to Glastonbury standard though!
seanisnumber1
I take i the car park is just muddy fields then somerset fans?? Anywhere else to park than here??

ruckerroo
My taunton and wells moles have told me that friday is going to be by a long way the best day for outdoor speedway this weekend, the track drains pretty well and a few showers wont do it any harm. Lucky that roofs shuts for saturday tho.

Dave the Mic
I must say I do agree with an awful lot of the comments on this topic about the make of the event. The wild card idea is pants & allowing Watto to ride, much as he is a good rider is a poor idea & does nothing for the credibility of a sport already in crisis. Regarding the staging of the event at Somerset, I can fully understand all the negative comments about it not being neutral & that is very valid, especially given that many of the shared events have been won by the rider(s) from the host track & that the powers that be said they would stage the Super 7 events on neutral tracks. Sadly the the people who run the sport don't always(!) do it that well & they don't listen to the fans either. But will it ever change? On a positive note, as some have already said, Somerset is a very good venue in terms of it's proximity to Cardiff & whilst I am bias, the track is fantastic & I suspect the racing, if the meeting survives the monsoons we are having at the moment is likely to be some of the best you will see in 2007. Just watched the detailed local forecast and although rain is expected overnight and early tomorrow morning its supposed to clear by mid morning. After that it should be quite a pleasant day although there will be a brisk wind and temperatures not very high, so bring warm clothing. People been saying about holding this event at Somerset is unfair.. so do you think holding it at somewhere like Newport would be good? (Using my very good sourceS) the track at Newport is prepared not very well at all... I rest my case.
