Gaz
So Newcastle are now first reserves now i think, this is a catch 22 situation for me i dont want any injuries but would love to go to 4's. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where does it say we are 1st reserves? Star Lady
But when no one but J Chapman seems to know all the rules i suppose they can be bent or new ones made up to suit what ever circumstances arise <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've not read anywhere that JC was the only one responsible for the rules. He was the only one prepared to venture onto this forum and attempt to explain them. That is slightly different IMHO
The SAINT
This is an absolute disgrace. Now we have brought Kessler in, our top four could be Grieves, Kerr, Kessler and Tressarieu and on averages should be in!!! And Havvy is still an outsider to be fit anyway. I am not shocked at all but would have thought CVS should have something to say. Dont see how Workington are allowed to stay in and if anything serious is wrong with Ostergaard (Which I hope it isnt) then the Brummies should be pulled - but we all no this is a big Brummies love in!!! Not having a dig at Brummies but it seems they get a lot more favours then Redcar did last season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> absolutely 100% spot on and exactly what i've been trying to say all along....someone has screwed up big time OR personalities/politics has reared it's ugly head and "disturbed" the simple qualifying rules! spin king
Does anybody have the reason why Redcar have been taken out, I would have thought if the Redcar promotion see it as been unfair then CVS would have said something, by the same token I have not seen anything from Neil Machin on Sheffield not been included in the first place. spin king
Record number of complaints on the BSF from irate Sheffield fans SK <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You might be right there Paulco, I have personally kept out of it, to me the Sheffield management had not said anyhting public, and Neil is not one to stand by and let something like non qualification of his team without a massive arguement . Home Straight Steve
Now I'm just a simple man - but - Would it not be better to have quailifying events and prevent any arguing about who should and should not be there Message to the BSPA - the simplest ideas are the best

RedcarRacer
The four team qualifiers would be a great warm instead of facing the same old clubs in pre-season friendlies.

marron
can i just ask what your problem with workington is? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think he's saying it because Stoney has replaced Hansen whilst we can't leave out Havvy and Tres and go with Kessler, Kerr, Grieves and Giffard. Yeah yeah, everyone is out to get Workington and Birmingham, apart from the BSPA that is who are out to get Sheffield. Some people need to stop getting so defensive! Pleased we're in but got to feel sorry for Redcar, and as has been said, be interesting to find out who pulled them from the competition, whether it was the Redcar management or everyone organising the 4s. stacey
is it not because when you add the redcar riders replacing havvy and tres that it is a lower total or am i completely wrong? and as far as the post by SCB i was asking a simple question not having a go it is possible for people to ask questions without trying to make a point. Boothers
According to the Star today Redcar were given a deadline of last Friday to indicate whether Gary Havelock would be fit and as we couldn't guarantee this 'Redcar had to pull out under competition rules' Ha Bloody Ha ! It also states that 'the Teesside club made a late appeal to stay in by including new signing Robbie Kessler in their quartet. Said Sheffield chief Neil Machin: "The rules are quite clear.." ( ) "and even though Redcar wanted to include new signing Robbie Kessler on his starting average this season rather than his current figure, they had to pull out" Right that'll be the Neil Machin whose Sheffield team are replacing us in the competition. The fact is that we don't need to take Robbies starting average, or his current average all that should matter, and "the rules are quite clear" is his average as at qualifiaction shut off date 13/04/07. Robbie average then was 4.76. If you replace Gary's average at that point (10.52) with Robbies 4.76 you have a difference of 5.76. Take the 5.76 off our qualifying averages from the Super7 PL 4TT details on the website and this leaves us with a combined average of 29.89 for our quartet STILL above both Somerset and Sheffield. And I don't want any of this crap about Robbie's average being for Sheffield - at least he'd ridden official matches this year - Workingtons quartet contain Carl Stonehewer who on the cut off date was still in retirement and hadn't turned a wheel in anger. UNFAIR

Thats why i hardly bother going now, chucking money down the drain. Edited May 3, 2007 by Matousek
