bananas
So you won't nip in the bar when it gets a bit chilly, Bananas? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope, I'm a hard core stay outside-er! I stand on the back straight and can't be bothered to walk as far round as the bar just to warm up! We get the heaters on in the car on the way back instead! Been nice sunny day so far, gone a bit more cloudy now, but doesn't look too threatning at the moment, but looking at the radar, there could be chance of us getting some small showers later this afternoon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The track can probably take that even after yesterday's weather though?? I find it amusing that some of us look at weather reports so intently (myself included), we're probably better than most weatherpeople around!! Rob B
The track can probably take that even after yesterday's weather though?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep after all the sun this morning the top surface of the track could probably do with some water on it. Coming across to support Ricky and Joel tonight!! Just started having a bit of a sleet shower here about an hour away but don't no if it will be coming towards you!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No the weather is coming down from the north so anything you get has completly missed us. Rob B
We've just had quite a heavy rain/hail shower, lasted about 15 minutes. Roads are very wet now, but looks brighter in the distance now, hopefully we won't have another one of those before start time.

Rob B
Quite a dissappointing meeting to start the season, very poor attendance for first meeting of the season, think it was a combination of United playing on the TV, very cold weather and people not that interested in an individual meeting. Atmosphere was terrible, not helped by the terrible new PA system but more about that in the PA thread. Racing wasn't that great, some good races here and there, track started off very wet and seemed to have a problem patch entering the third bend which caught quite a few riders out. Towards the end though there was some deep dirt on the outside for those that were brave enough. As for the Belle Vue riders : Stead - no where near his best, won his two rides off gate 1 and didn't do much else. Screen - definatly the best Aces rider on show, got out wide in the deep dirt and had plenty of speed, shame he had engine problems in heat 3 whilst second beating Nicholls else he would of won the meeting! Wright - James started off brilliantly beating Nicholls and followed that up with another win and second place but in his last two rides completly messed up the gates and looked like a different rider then. Fisher - was quite happy with Ryans performance seeing as he didn't get any practise on the track last week, took him a while to get going but had a great race in heat 20 holding off Chris Harris. Laukkanen - bit up and down, had some good races and poor races Doolan - didn't start off too well but then seemed to get his bike setup right, suffered an engine failure whilst leading heat 16 and didn't come out in his last ride. Skornicki - terrible, looked nothing like the rider at Oxford on Friday, looked like a junior that had never ridden the track before. Col
How did AJ look? He's the only hope we have for a challenge to Crump in the GP's, this year IMO. He was distinctly ordinary in at Monmore yesterday.

605ts
Meeting report AJ looked ok, most impressed with James Wright. Rode really well in his first three races. He can score plenty of points for us at home from the reserve slot, thats for sure.
Sir Jasper
Nice to see Scotty and Bomber hitting good scores, Also nice for AJ however that means nothing in relation to the bees for this year. As for AJ he always starts the season very very slowly and will improve in time for the gp's.

As for AJ he always starts the season very very slowly and will improve in time for the gp's. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Both Scott and Bomber rode well and had a good race when they met each other. Scott would have gone through the card but in his first ride he made a bit of a hash of the first turn trying to block Joe Screen coming round the outside. In doing that he left a massive gap up the inside for James Wright to nip through. AJ looked ok, nothing special. Anyone know what happened to his blue and yellow Kevlars. At Wolves on Sunday he rode in all black and the same on Monday. Was he on borrowed equipment?

At Wolves on Sunday he rode in all black and the same on Monday. Was he on borrowed equipment? Looking at his new website thats his new colours. Can't say I like them and I prefer the blue and yellow, it's hard to pull of black bikes/kevlars, very few manage it.
Sir Jasper
It is indeed very strange to see AJ in black However I prefer Nicholls in black compared to that blue scheme he had last year, and in fact the new gear he has this year with sub species is indeed excellent.
