Boggle
and also about getting to Daugapils by train? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I got the train to Daugavpils from Riga for last year's GP, and go the bus back to Riga Best advice is to get the bus bus rather than the train. The train is VERY uncomfortable (cramped, low seats), although only costs about £3.50 Buses are just as cheap, but much more comfortable. Whichever way you travel you are looking at anywhere between 3 and 4 hours. bus timetables here, just buy a ticket at the bus terminal before you go.. f-s-p
thanks boggle,do you know where i can get the bus from riga? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The train station and the bus station are right next to each other on the eastern? edge of the old town. Next to the market square. I've been to Riga twice and been in the "Radi un Draugi" hotel both times. 5 min walk to the stations, inside the old town. fatface
One bit of advice Gary - we stayed at the Monte Kristo in Riga. Ideally located and seemingly very pleasant. But all three of us suffered from bites there! Don't know if it was mozzies or bed bugs, but it was a rather pimpled triumvirate that set off for Daugvapils! And no, Riga is not dangerous at all - it's a lovely city. I recommend the building known as 'Lenin's Birthday Cake' for a rooftop tour. Fascinating. ps. Like the tag-line...Billy Bragg fan eh?
