How Many World Championships?

Right in the 'Best rider ever' thread we are discussing world championships.

If you have: Ivan Mauger, Ove Fundin, Erik Gundersen and Ronnie Moore how many world championships are we talking about between them?

If I can get a contact number for Erik we could be looking at a fans night sometime in March with the other riders. Not sure if Ove is attending yet though he usually does. Meanwhile, I will try and contact Erik.

I would like to know the answer so a free 'Pride of Lions' print for the first correct answer. One guess per person.

if its speedway and longtrack only ...

Ivan 6 + 3

Ronnie 2

Ove  5

Erik 3 + 2

possibly

Like I said Steve; was not all of them world champions ie an FIM medal for also representing their country? Gundersen was the speedway world champion, world team, pairs and long track champion in just one year. That is four for him in one year. This time I do not know the answer. How many FIM medals does Ove and Ivan between them have?

well Ivan has 15 FIM gold medals, i dont know Ove's history and how many pairs and WTC he has  :D

my answer was based on speedway and longtrack only

Little more difficult then Steve, as I said I do not have the answer. I think with Ove Ivan and Erik (we are contacting him now through my daughter) it could be as much as 30. Thank you for taking part.

Looking forward to seeing you and Sky Rocket in March. (I will not forget her picture of a Mr. T Betts.) Cheers.

if a 2nd option counts i'll go ..

ERIK = 17 (7 WTC, 5 PAIRS, 2 LTRACK, 3 IND)

IVAN = 15 (3 LT, 6 IND, 2 PAIR, 4 WTC)

RONNIE = 3 (2 IND, 1 PAIR)

OVE 11 (5 IND, 6 WTC)

Jim

Originally thought it was just World Speedway titles, therefore does my second answer count?:oops:

Yes it does. If it is correct its truly amazing that when you look at it like that Erik is really a superstar. If we do not get any more that can increase it, your looking as the likely winner. Thanks for that. Who would have thought it?
