German Gp + Czech Golden Helmet

Recommended Posts

I am aware this should be under another heading but mod’s I feel it is important it stays so as many people as possible see this. I hope I am not saying something that has already been posted.

The dates for the German GP have changed. It is now a week later, the 13th October 2007. I know loads of people have to book holidays and hence the reason I feel the importance of this item being under general speedway.

This also means the Czech Golden helmet dates have changed. It will now be the week before, the 6th October, not the 13th.

Mod Note :- The sections are there for a reason. Post moved to correct section  Anyone could claim it was 'important as many people as possible' saw one of their posts. people looking for GP info look in the GP section

Bet Chris Brown was crying in his coffee cup yesterday.

He had just booked 18 tickets for golden helmet when someone told him the date had changed.

Anyone know a good coach company from Prague to Gelsenkirchen!!!!

(sorry Chris - hope you can sort it without to much loss of income)

No,as spiegal and Chris Brown know this is about as definite as can be.The German GP has had to be moved as the stadium is booked for something else on the original date.Chris did get confirmation before booking :D

I did mention the date change a while back. Here :)

OOH - I missed that back in December.

Good job we are planning a road trip and not booked anything.

Actually - i wouldnt book until confirmation to be honest.

If it is to be confirmed as the 13th October - It will be a Lora Birthday Party Road Trip!!! Brilliant :D

and hopefully we will be able to meet the great 'IRIS'.

That would be great - you suggest the pub and we will be there. :D

Not so sure about "great" :D

Not even sure if i will go to this.I am not a big fan of the GPs.Far too expensive. But if you are going to the Grand Final thing at Vojens or the SWC at Vojens i will be there :D

Don't worry Sandie. I had done my homework before I booked and had confirmation from Lubos and Tony Skach that the Golden Helmet was the 6th. I posted this to the International Thread.

A lot of things can change between now and then SCB,but like i say i ain't really a fan of the GPs.Been to 2 and that is it.I can go to(or could)4 Danish league meetings for the price of a Gp ticket. In fact i could go to both parts of the Danish Final plus a league meeting. And seeing as proper league speeway is rare in these parts that is what i prefer.Plus so far i have never been to a speedway meeting south of Hamburg.North, east and west but have only been to a couple of longtrack meetings further south.Would love to meet you all(well some of you :P )though. In fact i would love to meet someone. My members met list is pretty well non-existant :(

Could someone with experiance of travelling to the Golden Helmet give me an idea/example of the itinary.

- Do you stay in Prague or Pardubice?

- If so, is public transport recommended to/from the meeting?

- Is the meeting itself any good, is it usual end of season fair....

- How much is it to get in? I am assuming it's cheaper than GP's, but then there seems to be a lot of riders there who need paying?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I was at the last Golden Helmet meeting in October. Stayed in Pardubice this time and found it very enjoyable.

From Prague caught the train to Pardubice appox 1.hr journey time cost about 3 pounds per person each way.If you get therearly there is a junior meeting held on the Saturday and you can buy tickets very cheaply 4-12 pounds and that is for both meetings. The racing is excellent big wide fast track,no end of season fair here.To get to the stadium from the town centre we used taxis they hike the prices but it still works out cheap at approx 3 pounds per head.A note of caution if you decide to base yourself in Prague check the train timetable for schedules on Sunday evenings after the meeting finishes as I don,t thinkthere are too many trains running at that time. It is a great weekend and well worth the effort
