Trees
Well done to SunArisen for thanking Ron (big Ron Malm that is) for the updates and thanks should also go to his other half Shona who whacked details onto the Yahoo list as Ron texted them through to her from the track. Would have been nice (and common courtesy I would have thought) for others to duly acknowledge the source of the info they posted Oh for gords sake Bryn, why does everyone have to keep acknowledging everyone else, I post things cos I want to and enjoy doing so, not so I receive everyone's acknowledgement and thanks, surely others feel the same???? Why do peeps think that others are automatically claiming results/info for their own, gord jeezzzzzzz ............ we're a funny old lot!! Scunny Stag
Thanks to everyone involved in providing the world with the scores. Does anyone know where I can find the line-ups for rounds 3-5. I've a spreadsheet I can quickly update whilst I'm at work but it's heats five to seven before it becomes apparent which rider is riding at each number. If anyone want a copy of the spreadsheet just e-mail me at richardh1967@ntlworld.com

And who said anything about thinking that others are automatically claiming the results as their own? . I'm stopping with the Malms at present (Sir Lunchalot has been too up to this morn - he's now flown back to Melbourne) and they put a lot of effort into these updates as do others who do likewise from all other tracks. I'm sure Shona would have much preferred to have had an early night rather than be here on the puter till gone midnight.

Now joint third overall after two rounds with Leigh behind Crumpie and Johno.

On the yahoo list loads of people have thanked them, I'll add my thanks too on there.

brixham mickey
Taken from the Robins website CRUMP SUPREME IN SYDNEY SYDNEY - January 5, 2007: World Champion Jason Crump has continued his run of success in tonight's second round of the Linddales Labour Hire Australian Motorcycle Speedway Championship at the Sydney Showground, which marked the return to form of Leigh Adams and the continued success of West Australian, Steve Johnston. Crump was supreme, taking victory in each of his six rides in comfortable fashion. Leigh Adams was magnificent - he won four heat races and came home in a valiant second in the final. South Australian Rory Schlein was once again impressive - deposing Johnston to fourth in the final. Johnston was superb and has maintained his second place overall in the Championship - without doubt the surprise packet of the Linddales Championships. The B-Final was the race of the night. Chris Holder got the start and a blanket could have covered the four riders. British Champion - Scott Nicholls - was running a solid second until he had a major engine blow-up. Mark Lemon - who took an impressive heat race win in the final round of heats - advanced to second place, with Cory Gathercole cruising in for third. Holder's win was popular with the massive Sydney crowd. Early in the event, there was a tinge of controversy when the tapes did not fly evenly. After heat two, Jason Crump met with officials regarding the issue. The third heat, the same problem occurred, Newcastle's Jason Doyle pulled up on the track and officials decided to re-run the heat. This caused issues with riders from the previous heats - led by Rory Schlein - and to be fair, Schlein had a point - if they were to re-run heat three they should have re-run all three. Nevertheless, the event continued. Tom Hedley took a heavy fall in his fourth heat in turn one, however was able to re-start. Gathercole found form, pushing Adams all the way in one heat, so too Englishman Simon Stead - who had one impressive heat race victory to his credit. "It was a great event and everything is really going well," said Crump after the event. "It was fairly tough out there, you know, Leigh was back on it and Mildura will be interesting as there are so many riders - myself included - that began their careers there." Adams was philosophical. "I'm not that happy, I wanted to be standing on the top step of the podium," he said. "But, I'm doing what everyone else in the world is doing at the moment - and that is chasing Jason Crump. Bring on Mildura, I used to hate the place because I never did that well there, but I have had a run of success there lately." Schlein regarded his night as troubled, but was happy with his consistency. "It was up and down, you know. I made another A-Final, I'm still in there, so I'm aiming to continue on this consistent path over the next three rounds and finish within that top three." The next round of the Linddales Labour Hire Australian Motorcycle Speedway Championship will be at Mildura's Olympic Park this coming Wednesday night, January 10. sward
On Radio Freamantle this morning Rod Colquhoun mentioned the attendance for round one was about 5,500 and round two at Sydney between 7,500 - 8,500 people. Very impressive. Edited January 6, 2007 by sward
Guest Sir Lunchalot
I'm stopping with the Malms at present (Sir Lunchalot has been too up to this morn - he's now flown back to Melbourne) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed I did Bryn, flew back to Melbourne an hour late due to late arrival of the plane from its previous flight, sat next to "the passenger from hell", then drove 2 hours plus up to Shepparton / Undera for the 1st round of the Vic sidecar titles only to have a rain off after only two heats of the main event and three junior events had been run. To keep us interested while the officials were deciding on what to do with the meeting we managed two streakers (male unfortunately ) so all was not lost for the females in the crowd at least. No lap times were available for the streaker as they had a mechanical failure going down the back straight. A special mention re Big Fat Dave, you will all be happy to know he is alive and well and enjoying himself immensely despite not having internet access. I did have the pleasure of meeting him for the first time at Newcastle and in response to my question "excuse me, are you Dave ?" he replied with a uniquely Australian answer that translates to "yes I am". As Ron isn't able to be at Mildura yours truly will be texting the results through to him back in Sydney on Wednesday next. "Normal service" will be resumed in Adelaide and Mt Gambier with Ron in attendance and myself relegated back to filling in the program, being in charge of the burger / beer / chips acquisition scheme and generally being a nuisance and talking to people when Ron is phoning Shona with the results (Sorry Ron !!)
