Another good news about Jernej today. :approve:

Doctors have waken him up today in the afternoon! He feels good and doctors also said that his back (2 vertebrae) is NOT broken as it was first feared.

Wonderful news on Kolenko!

A stone from my heart has falled off now.

Keep it up Kolenko!

/ Mikael

Hi Gary

Yes, meeting in Lendava is still on, it starts at 6pm. I don't have the lineup yet, but it should be a pretty good meeting. Best 4 riders from all 4 countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Hungary) are supposed to ride, but I'm not sure if this will happen. Check www.speedway.si in the next few days as the lineup will be announced.

Hungary won round 1 of common SLO-CRO-AUT-HUN cup for teams yesterday in Lendava, Slovenia was 2nd and Austria 3rd. Matej Zagar scored a perfect maximum including a nice win over Matej Ferjan in heat 19.

Tomaz, I see that Matija Duh rode for Austria - was he a "guest"? Or is he no longer Slovenian?

Some update on Jernej Kolenko.

Me and my brother visited Jernej today at his home in Ljubljana. He was released from the hospital on thursday and spent a few days at home with his relatives and friends. Tommorow he is going to a rehabilitation center where he will stay for (at least) three weeks.

He is in a positive mood. Apparently, one of the first words after being awaken after 12 days of coma were that he will get back on a speedway bike again. Today he confessed that it almost certainly won't happen this year, but it might happen next season. He has problems with memory, he doesn't remember everything, especially not the crash in Prelog. He also has some physical problems, he can't (yet) walk on his own, but it is expected that it will all get sorted during rehabilitation.

All in all, more positive news about Jernej. He is getting better every day and hopefully we will soon see him at speedway tracks again.

Some more news about Jernej. While his rehabilitation process is going well, he has now decided that he will not continue with speedway and that his speedway career is finished :(.

This is very sad news for all of us in Slovenian speedway, as Kolenko was in best form of his career before his crash in Prelog, and we will also lose yet another rider, which we are already really short of. But I completely understand Jernej's decision and agree with him. I was one of the first who said that if I was in his place, I would not ride anymore. Health comes first in such cases, in my opinion.

A big THANK YOU to Jernej for all he has done for Slovenian speedway and good luck in anything he will do in his life after speedway.

Hi guys

I just wanted to let you know that Google translate (http://translate.google.com/translate_t#) now also works with Slovenian language. This will let you read our website (http://www.speedway.si) in any language you want. :)

The translation is not perfect but you'll be able to understand our articles. :)
