Guest Jim Blanchard
What are the propects for our bomber Chris Harris?
Silver Bee
I hope he has a gutsy year and gets near the qualification spaces. I think whatever happens with him, we'll be entertained. Just hope they don't do an NKI with him and kick him out after his first year.
21st century heathen
He'll have a very good view of the other riders rear tyre wear. Give him a decent amount of dirt, and he'll chase anybody down from tapes to flag. He's fantastic to watch, but he has to improve his gating. If you're last out the gate in the GP you might catch one, or maybe two. You can't chase down all three like he does in the league though. I have my fingers crossed that he has a great season. He needs to have a two year crack at it at least.
Subedei
Agreed Alan. He needs to have a two year crack at it at least. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I fear Harris could be a lamb to the slaughter. He'll give it everything he's got. A more honest and industrious rider you'll not find. But I think his failings could be exposed at the GP level. Assuming that Nicholls is a "sure-fire" GPer, regardless of his constant failures, I think Harris will be elbowed aside if the "Bomber" bombs in 2007. But I would love for bomber to come good (if even if i might lose a very needed commission) but we need some hope of a British success on the world stage. Surely, we can get one of our riders on the podium at these interntional events.
Subedei
In saying that, an English phrase I've heard over the years is "there's more than one way to skin a cat". And there's more than one way to make the GPs. In fact, there's three. You can qualify via the GPs, you can qualify via the qualifiers and you can qualify via begging. Now, I don't think Harris is the sort of fellow to consider qualifying via the qualifiers as beneath him and with GP experience behind him, he could well come through the qualification process. BigFatDave
It was a new-look Jason Crump this year, I don't think I've ever seen him that focussed. By the time the series was half-over the big question was "who'll be second?" I certainly got a great deal of pleasure watching him this year and I'll enjoy seeing him pick up his third champioinship at the end of 2007. That said, Hans is the Boy to look out for. I don't buy his omission as non-political; there were a few other riders that had poor 2005 SGP seasons that could have been outed; I'm of the opinion that there's a clique up there in the powers-that-be that's got a real down on him, - you only had to be at the SWC this year to see that. Fortunately he's maturing as a person and a rider, whereas the "Andersen-haters" will end up choking on their own bile. Sorry Hans, Second for you, mate. Third on the Podium is a three-way between Greg, Leigh & Nikki. Toss a coin. Sorry about the Swedes, I hope the Bomber goes well, and one day Scotty, one day mate. For me, even though we lost, the SWC had heaps better riding than the GPs this year, I suppose its the "Riding for the Flag" syndrome, coupled with the "Where's Tony" problem, it wasn't the Shoot-out I'd hoped for. Better luck in 2007, and maybe Hans or Jason will bring the Championship Downunder for the 2008 Aussie Champs! Really looking forward to 2007 Ozchamps in January, gotta get that fix of Shale & Methanol!
iris123
Maybe i am the only one.But i think Crump will find it hard to start all over again in the same form. For me i think the race will be between Nicki,Hans and of course Crump.Ultimately though i don't think Crump will reach the heights of last season and will finish second, maybe even third.I will go for Nicki as i think even Hans will struggle to be quite so good as last year.Or Hans will romp it.They are the only 3 i can see on the rostrum at the end of the season. 1.Nicki 2.Jason 3.Hans or 1.Hans 2.Crump 3.Nicki
shazzybird
What are the propects for our bomber Chris Harris? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Reckon he'll take some important points off of people and literally be a spoke in the wheel other than that can't see him doing much, which is a great shame for the British fans. Again like everyone else Jason I'd like to see the take the title again the top three will more than likely be Jason, Nicki and Hans. Might just have a little bet on Bacon Balls to win it, to see someone different rather than someone domineer year in year out is a bit more exciting but still not ruling out Greg Hancock so thats my final four. iris123
Jason Crump 2 World Titles Nicki P 1 World Title How do you work out Crumpy is the "Temporary Holder" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just like with Ove Fundin or Ivan Mauger, at one time they only had 1 World title and others had more. But it didn't end up that way

GP series or not i reckon they would have all still won a World title.
