Dutch
I try to find information from engines and machines used in Japanese Speedway. In Japan speedway is there AutoRace and I know that from 1993 everone use the SEAR (Super Engine Auto Race) AR600 and the AR500 made by Suzuki The AR500 is for the rookies. I hope that somebody have information from the engines and machines used before 1993, because I think there must be many different types of engines. Though I suspect this is not the sort of engines you refer to.

Ian Paterson has at least one Japanese speedway engine in his collection at the From Cinder To Shale speedway museum, near Edinburgh. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the engine. The Hasegawa on the "Workshop Site" is in fact the single cylinder HKS engine, and HKS is a part of the Fuji Heavy Industry. There are 2 types of the HKS. The single cylinder is the HKS type HT 000, this engine is a DOHC 4V with 603cc. (Made from 1979) The twin cylinder is the HKS type HR 652, this engine is a DOHC 4 V with 663cc.(Made from 1986) Edited December 13, 2006 by Dutch

Other Twin engines used in Japanese speedway before 1993 are the Triumph Tiger T 120 engine, and the Meguro MR (almost a copy of the Triumph) engine. Both are 650cc and are OHV 2V type. The other twin cylinder engine is the Toyo type VEX made in 1980. This engine with 663cc is a SOHC 2V engine.

At http://www.autorace.or.jp/old_site/info/in...vent/meisha.jpg you find some old Japanese machines used before 1993. The HKS and Triumph are the machines with 2 cyl engines. The others are the Toyo / Kyokuto and Meguro with 1cyl, Sohc 2V engines. Edited December 19, 2006 by Dutch

Just pick the ones from GOZIRA 1. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> More amazing news from Japanese AutoRace (speedway). Next year there will be an AutoRace Women League. New is also Tandem racing, 2 riders together on 1 bike. The bike for this event have a longer seat and a sissy bar at the end, and extra protection around the rear sprocket. http://www.autorace-or.jp/autorace_stadium...503-tandem.html Imagine this, a street legal speedway (autorace) bike!! Hard to believe but in Japan you can buy these machines with a Honda 250cc (moto x) engine. http://www.auto-machine.com/ Edited December 23, 2006 by Dutch
