PaulWiktorko
I wasn't going to the Latvia for the GP but this does effect me as I did have flights booked to go there. So far, I have heard nothing from BA themselves - they have given me no notification of the cancellation and no refund as things stand. British Airways to halt flights to Riga in 2007 British Airways has announced that it will stop flights between London and Riga from 25 March 2007. BA's official representative for the Baltic countries and Finland, Toms Andersons, explained that the route was not profitable enough. Anyone who has bought tickets for flights after that date will get a refund. BA has been operating flights on the route since 1997. Riga airport’s marketing director, Liene Freivalde, said that Ryanair and airBaltic will keep flying to London while KLM, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SAS and CSA will offer intercontinental traffic to other airports around the world, via hubs other than London. Boggle
Air Baltic was fine last year and slightly cheaper than BA, only slight problem is the late arrival time (around 22:30) in Riga itself when you fly out
PaulWiktorko
Flying with BA was £52 return. No wonder they said the route was unprofitable!!
