Results from last nights Golden Helmet meeting at Gillman Speedway in Adelaide Australia -

This was a great 6 rider, 6 lap final with Hedley leading Sitera for 4 laps until Sitera's experience wore Hedley down and he passed Hedley on the inside to go on to with the race.

 

 

Spills of the night were -

Heat 2 Matthew Wethers and Ben Wilson came together in turns 1 & 2 which saw Ben Wilson retire from the night unhurt but with bent bike however Matthew Wethers was taken to hospital after being knocked out for about 30 seconds. X-Rays revealed no broken bones but a badly bruised shoulder. He was released from hospital last night.

 

Stoneham went down in heat 10 and collided with the fence. He too was taken to hospital and last account he seemed to have a bad case of concussion. Nothing else known at this stage

 

2nd semi final saw the race of the night between Arlo Bugeja and Robert Ksiezak with Bugeja pushing Ksiezak very had for the entire race. Unfortunately Bugeja picked up drive coming out of turn 4 whilst leading Ksiezak in a run to the line and collided with the fence. He had a headache at the end of the night and a couple of bruises but otherwise unhurt.

 

Fastest time of the night went to Tom Hedley.

 

 

7 sidecars started the night however only 3 were able to contest the final.

Sidecar placings for the night were -

Treloar/Plaistead

Parker/Rudloff

Bichard/

 

The team of Pascoe & Pascoe crashed in heat 6 with the passenger taken to hospital with a broken finger

 

All 3 competitors were apparently lined up side by side in hospital.
