Lukas Dryml Injury

You know, the not-so-funny thing is:before the meeting I commented that the medical care might not be up to scratch in a country such as Slovenia.....

The not-so-funny thing is: that's a terrible slur on the people of a civilised nation. I work with doctors from India, Nigeria, Mauritius, etc. and I can assure you that they are all very competent and professional. Your parochial attitude is completely out of order.

It was a potential tragedy what happened to Lukas on the track and at the hospital, but that's no reason to be demeaning about Slovenia and its people.

Having said that, stringent measures must be put in place immediately to ensure that competent medical and first-aid practitioners are on hand at every meeting, whether it be in Copenhagen, Krsko, or wherever.

For Gods sakes!

What is wrong with some of the people on this website??!!

that's a terrible slur on the people of a civilised nation

No it's not. It's a condemnation of the medical facilities in a lot of poorer nations. Fact. Not my fault pal.

They might be professional but the tools of their trade are lacking in many cases. Fact.

but that's no reason to be demeaning about Slovenia and its people

I was not demeaning it's people. I was pointing out that the MEDICAL FACILITIES in SOME of these countries is lacking.

My comments are based on the fact as a pilot I fly into these countries on a regular basis and have witnessed first hand the way in which vital services are in desperate need of more money. Of course, you working as a bar manager must visit these places far more often than I so I bow down to your superior knowledge. ;)

Ball's in your court.

LT.

PS: From tomorrow afternoon I'll be away for 2 weeks and unable to reply due to the fact I'll be in one of the poorer foreign countries.

PPS: Have you worked in Sudan? I never mentioned India, Nigeria, Mauritius did I?

Last report was that he is planning to ride in the WTC.

What great news, Lukas is a very lucky young man considering that Polish report.

All the best Lukas, can't wait to see you back the GPs just wouldn't be the same.

Leg Trailer,

Whilst I have no desire to get into a vacuous argument with you, the point I was making was that you gave the impression that Slovenia is comparable with Sudan. I hope that, as a pilot, you know the difference between the two, or you could end up anywhere.

Of course, as a bar manager, I know sod-all about the world!

Facts:- Slovenia has a substantially higher GDP per capita (approx.$18,000) than other transitioning economies of central Europe, with a high life expectancy and a low infant mortality rate.

What I am saying is, don't give people the wrong idea about places with flippant comments. You've obviously given yourself the pseudonym Dick Dastardly for the right reasons.

It can be very tedious to sit and type out justifications for this that and the other on every occasion just in case someone like yourself takes what I've written and runs another 100 yards with it.

You obviously read far more into my original post than I intended you to read and as a result we are verging on a discussion/argument on the mintuae of "transisioning economies".

My personal feelings are that some posters on this bulletin board have read me wrong on more than one topic already since I joined and as a result I feel slightly alienated. My posts are now more likely be jumped on and disputed for their minutae rather than the face value I intend but hey, ce la vie.

Being misunderstood is one of the failings of internet bulletin boards as a tool of mature discussion so rest assured my tongue will remain thoroughly instered in cheek from now on hence the Dick Dastardly signature. 8)

Regards,

LT.

PS: I suggest you re-read the Sudan part of my post and then you'll see that I was infering that the trend will lead to a GP in Sudan as a far fetched conclusion! A joke if you like but I guess some posters GSOH has gone astray somewhere. Only someone who wanted to believe I was comparing Sudan to Slovenia would post what you posted. Stop trying to be bitchy for the sake of giving your lard an airing. It's tiresome.

leg trailer - just one thing - you are confusing me by calling yourself "LT".

For two years now my brain has recognised "LT" as Lion Tamer (dear friend who nearly forgot me in Cardiff  ).

btw why you call yourself leg trailer - did you use to ride?

Not a rider no, I simply like the leg trail style and feel it's a shame you don't see it anymore.

I'll try to remember not to use the abbreviation 'LT' in future. If Lion Tamer's a nice chap he won't appreciate the association with nathty ole me will he?!:lol:

Surely the buck stops with GP race director a certain Mr Olsen and BSI.No meeting can start in the UK without a paramedic or doctor present,as it was a GP i would think you would need at least 1 of each present as if the Dr./paramedic needs to attend the hospital as in Lukas,s case hopefully. Then their beloved tv schedules go down the pan and they are probably more important than the riders safety. What needs to happen is all riders stick together and say we aint riding with air fences on the straights,5 riders on a narrow track and no Dr./paramedic present. If the riders stick together it will be sorted as if they refuse to ride just after the parade who will the general public believe is in the right? any speedway fan would say the riders were.

Next time your having a bad day and need someone to talk to, try not to head to your local bar and chat to the barmaid or barman (or anyone else that is likely to listen) :P Just because "We" work in pubs/clubs serving drinks doesn't mean we are not educated

Not many public houses sprout wings and travel around the world everyday but if you see one that does then let me know cuz I'll be there honey. ;)

I never said you were uneducated but if that's what you want to think then go right ahead. I was refering to the fact that bar staff don't travel abroad for a living everyday and see these things EVERYDAY.

For your info I've worked in bars myself in the past on MANY occasions so nurr nurr! :P
