cwf
Surely it's a good thing for British Speedway that we can actually discuss the merits of Bomber and/or Steady being part of the GP circus. It was only 18 months ago that the future of British speedway was looking fairly bleak to say the least.
ouch
Actually it mattered if you were in the top8 and Stead didn't make it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope top three. Just ask Peter Karlsson if you need it confirmed. The meeting in question.
iris123
Nope top three. Just ask Peter Karlsson if you need it confirmed. The meeting in question. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well top 3 qualified, but all the way down to Ferjan at no.10 are involved to an extent that they are reserves.Stead didn't even manage that and finished 11th

We have non-qualified riders in the GPs (Nicholls, Harris, Lindback and B Pedersen), but "qualified" reserves. You couldn't make it up. south coast robin
Don't think Bomber is any better than Simon .. can see him being out of his depth in next years series unfortunately .
willp
i think maybe another season for steady and he maybe ready for the gp's but not now. i definatly think steady should have been given a reserve slot but there you go!! I'd already posted that the top three qualified but f-s-p didn't get it. Lets meet back here at the end of the GP series and discuss Ferjan's GP scores. I'm going out a limp now by saying I think Stead will have scored more GP points that Ferjan. I am there to be shot down though.

Cant see Ferjan getting a one single ride next season, but I'm with you that Stead is a better rider than Ferjan. BigFatDave
I for one enjoyed Steady at the 2006 Oz Champs, when he seemed to either win, blow up or Kummagutza!! Looking forward to seeing him again this year; I don't think he got a square deal at the SWC but that's probably due to your idiot Pommy Team Manager with his head up his backside as usual, same with Bomber. (raw deal not cranium up clacker). Certainly you can't just keep relying on Scotty, Mark seems to have given SGP away (Shame) and Richo this year was a waste of space. Best bet would be to give young Tai W. Pommy Citizenship!
Col
And you'll hear it all again and again and again and again and again. But there sure are 30000 gate & go, dull as dishwater Poles that are ready, right?
garf
IMO stead is a good el rider but like his BV colleague KB doesn't appear to have what it takes in the gating dept to make it in the GP. however you never can tell.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Next year you will see a KB put at least 2 points t his average. He will be ready and able to both gate and race.

Otherwise as a Meeting reserve, way down the list, he will only come into a Gp if 9 other reserve riders are injured and only then if a regular GP rider cannot take part, e.g. retirement as Rickardsson or injury as Nicholls. As No 1 reserve in the GPs this last season Andersen came in when Rickardsson retired and Sullivan (as 2nd reserve) came in when Nicholls was injured.
