Yes Danil was expected to be there. Not sure what happened but a few did have trouble getting there and were late for practice. Then again i would have thought the brothers would travel together. But maybe jumping to the wrong conclusion on that.I did see that Amazaspyan is a youngster new to the sport from nearby(1000km)Vladivostok.And the young German Russian Tschastchin again made the long trip for some early season practice.

Anyway we might have a couple of chances to meet this seasopn as i have just booked a trip to Assen :P And thinking about Inzell, but that is probably unlikely

Is there a reason the Finns picked Jouni Seppänen? I would have thought that Tommy Flyktman would benefit from riding in that series.

Oh well, only a couple of weeks to the Santa Cup!

Flyktman has said that his main focus is to get to the GP as well as to ride in the Finnish and Nordic finals. Think he missed a round last year, maybe the organizers weren't too happy about that. But in sportowefakty.pl they were only talking about Aakko or Seppänen. Aakko did not want to do it so Seppänen got the place.

More info on the Golden Spike series,Wildcards, etc here

Distinct lack of British riders in the field I see. Must ring Roger Newton and find out why.

Well done Johnny Tuinstra !! Great job

Have to agree, DGT, Johnny has come back well after his injury in March. Perhaps he could be a spoiler this year?

Mind you, Krasnikov will take some stopping this season!

Just had a message from Roger Newton, the Brits were training in Sweden last weekend, and Graham Halsall and Mark Uzzell will be riding in the European Championship at Lukhovitsy. Mark will ride in the WC qualifier in Penza the following weekend.

Roger will have his bike on Display at the Northern Mortorcycle Show in January as part of the Lancashire Grass Track stand.

I do hope that the Brits get some of the Wild card slots in the Golden Spike for 2007, as last year Graham had plenty of support in Assen last year.

Of course it is early yet,but it is looking very likely to be Krasnikov again this season. The only one who can beat him is himself, the way things are panning out.League meeting this weekend, maybe we can find out if there will be a contender. But to me it looks like a fall or an engine failure is the only way he won't win any particular meeting.Over the GP season though he looks far too strong.Do hope one of the West Europeans can string together a few good results to put pressure on the Russians
