tomazpozrl
The info is now on speedway.org but cant find it from uem-online.org <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guys at uem-online.org are a bit lazy, I guess. They are always pretty slow at putting such info online. There was an UEM meeting in Netherlands this weekend where all calendars and rider allocation for UEM meetings in 2007 have been confirmed. And some guys (from Netherlands for example) have already received this info and published it. Check baansportfansite.nl for the details. Conkers
Interesting on their website that the UEM should promote the clockwise aspect of the sport, as all their competitions appear to be riding the opposite direction to the FIM. Or should I get my coat...... Edited November 7, 2006 by Conkers
f-s-p
Interesting on their website that the UEM should promote the clockwise aspect of the sport, as all their competitions appear to be riding the opposite direction to the FIM. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed. Like expected the Euro's in ice racing took one of the best weekends of the Finnish season, and we now have two weekend's for the finnish final left in January, 6-7th and 21-22nd . The one left in February is too late in the current finnish climate. Why "left"? Because for the last few years it's been the target to have everyone available for the individual final. A target that failed miserably last year when Aakko was in Sweden for league racing and Flyktman was supposed to be in Divisisov for the Golden Spike (but wasn't). I know Flyktman has an intention to ride in the final this year, havent spoken with Aakko yet this winter. On another note! Dont have the time to check the facts now, but I have recently read in newspapers that Finland has been given the speed skating championhips (Euro or World?) for 2008, but the finnish speed skating federation managed to put them back to 2010. Why tell this.... Aaah... They want to have them indoors, and to do that, you have to build an arena!
iris123
Revised line up for the Sanok Cup here.Seems if all goes well the promoters want to hold a round of the Golden Spike series next year. Next weekend in Blago the Khomitsevitch and Ivanov brothers will be up against Krasnikov among others
f-s-p
Jouni Seppänen will represent Finland in the Golden Spike-series while Antti Aakko will concentrate on the GP-qualifiers and possibly the series and the swedish league. iris123
German entrants for the World Championships here.Robert Eibl will not be riding this season due to finances .Young Max Niedermaier Jr in Nikulin???? Edited November 20, 2006 by iris123
Conkers
Hmm, Nikulin conspicuous by his absence. Maybe he has realised that he is still struggling to be as competitive as he once was. He showed flashes of brilliance last year, but in my opinion, he looked off the pace in some heats. I'm not surprised about Robert Eibl, as I always thought he needed better sponsors than he had. But after all the time I've seen him riding, he is still a middle order rider. Good to see Bauer and Pletschacher back, just hope they stay injury free this season. Stefan is possibly at the make or break year, and if he manages a season without an injury he will only improve. As for the Russians, it's too early to say but looking at the results, there are two new names in there. It's as you were with the young guns like Ivanov, Krasnikov, The Khomitsevich's and Baraboshkin. Interesting that Danil Ivanov didn't ride. Him and Dmitri K are two of the hottest prospects for the future in my opinion. If Krasnikov does win the World Championship this year then he'll be the first rider to get three in a row since Sergei Tarabanko in 1977 (and he is the only Ice Racer to get four in a row.) Is there a reason the Finns picked Jouni Seppänen? I would have thought that Tommy Flyktman would benefit from riding in that series. Oh well, only a couple of weeks to the Santa Cup! BTW iris 123, we may be having that Guinness on my Birthday in Berlin after all! I'm looking at a flyer - out Saturday back late Sunday.
