Ozyace
The first meeting of the season at the newly formed Pinjar Park is on Saturday starting at 4pm for peewees, fast 50's, quads and sidecars. Then at 7pm a teams event will begin that will be carried on throughout the summer at Pinjar Park and Bunbury speedway. The teams are Bunbury Bullets (Davey Cheshire, Frank Smart, Kane Munro, Trevor Williams and Brady Webb) V Perth Pistons (Lee Redmond, Mark Jovic, Carley Gittus, Nigel Roberts and Daniel Winchester) It's gonna be great to see a few of the older boys go at it again. Also be interesting to see if Johno, Wuffy or Trev Harding ride in a couple of these meetings when they come back home. I can't wait. SCB
I know Ozyace said he'd post the result when he got back but I'm impatient. Does anyone know how Frank Smart did?
Teresa
He was top scorer in the meeting, and used the oportunity to get in some practice for the upcoming WA State Titles on 18th November.
SCB
Thanks Teresa. I'll keep an eye out for the results of the WA Title Edited November 9, 2006 by SCB
Ozyace
Sorry Shawn , I did keep a note on how the meeting went but i lost my programme. Frank rode great, undefeated all night, an easy couple of wins in the first couple of races but Dave Chehire was hounding him in the last couple, a better indication will be after next Saturday's state title. Btw i'm still looking for official results myself, although it ended 60 points apiece including the junior races. I'll try and get them up ASAP now that i'm home. SCB
Thanks for all the info I've said it before but it's worth repeating again, Frank Smart means an awful lot to us folk in Newport and we'll neevr forget all that he did for us in his 3 season as a Newport rider. Quite possibly the best all round rider to ride for Newport as he could ride any line, team ride anyone to victory and was a genuinly decent guy. I know that Craig Watson is hoping that Frank will be at his testimonial next season and I'm sure I speak for every Newport fan when I saw we're hoping he will be there too. Is he still hanging off the bike and making the un-wary think he is going to fall off at any time? I still have this picture on my keyring and always show people when they ask what speedway is.
