As for Norris, if he thinks he can do a job and wants to go badly then why not, who knows, if he can gate in Denmark like he gates at some tracks then ..............

After watching last night's meeting, I may have to revise my opinion slightly. It wasn't the actual riding that caused me to change my mind, but rather an interview. Dean Barker seemed so angry about not being included in the GP and the GB set up regularly. If he brought that passion to the squad for the WTC, then he would undoubtedly be an asset.

Guest Sir Lunchalot

I agree Bryce.

For any representative team I think the first question asked should be "do you really want to ride?" and if the answer is "no" then no matter who they are don't bother selecting them.

I'd rather a team of PL riders who really wanted to ride rather than a team of EL riders who are only riding because they are expected to and don't have their heart in it.

I remember Neil Middleditch picking a squad of 10 or 11 last year, so here's mine:

Scott Nicholls

Lee Richardson

Mark Loram

Dean Barker

David Howe

On stand-by:

Joe Screen

David Norris

Carl Stonehewer

Stuart Robson

Simon Stead

Chris Harris

Hopefully, Mark will change his mind and ride in the 5-man races!

I've just watched the meeting from last night and in his first race David Norris was bogged with an engine failure whilst leading........ big shame this lad really wanted to ride and do well last night, unfortunately it just was not his night, that does not reflect on how he would race if put into the WC squad maybe he would have more determination as he would now have something to prove to Middlo and all the fans that he is worthy of a World Cup place.......... Dean Barker he said about not riding at Cardiff, maybe he should have been given a place there, being his testimonial year as well it would have been fitting for him to have a go for himself and his country. Well worth a place in the World Cup Squad x

(I'm sounding more like an Eastbourne fan every posting........ Canterbury Fans I apologise for this misleading post  )

I think Barker should be included, but definitely not Norris. Away from Arlington he is not the same rider and also he is very inconsistent.

My final 5 would be :-

1) Nicholls (obvious choice)

2) Richardson (another obvious choice)

3) Stonehewer (class rider and a great "team player")

4) Howe (probably the best of the young uns at the moment)

5) Barker (deserves his chance)

When is the final squad being announced, does anybody know ?

According to http://www.crash.net/news_detail.asp?champ...0&language_id=1 the team is:-

Scotty Nicholls

Lee Richardson

Dean Barker

Gary Havelock

One from Bomber, Shaggy, Stoney, David Norris & Stuart Robson

States that he will take possibly six riders, I'd take Bomber and Stonet myself.

Ok Chivs...... thats what I'd have thought...... especially with it not mentioned anywhere else!!

According to the daily Star (now should I believe this!!!) Gary Havelock is set to be named...

I'm not trying to stir things here, I'm just stating what I've read for those who haven't seen them
