RockWolf
weather at moment (2 miles from the track) is mostly cloudy but with the odd bit of sun and blue sky...looks good for tonight, I can't 'smell' too much rain at the mo! 21st century heathen
ok isit likely to be on.. were traveling from Newport for this 1.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In short...yes. Monmore will take a lot of water, but there's not a lot forecast. The downpours over the weekend will make for a good race track.

21st century heathen
JACK THE LAD IN LAST CHANCE SALOON! SHROPSHIRE youngster Jack Hargreaves is facing up to his last chance to win the British Under-18 Championship at Wolverhampton on Monday (7.30pm). Hargreaves, born in Shrewsbury, is now a Premier League regular with Redcar and is making steady progress up the speedway ladder. But the favourite for the title must be Eastbourne talent Lewis Bridger who finished on the rostrum last season in a meeting won by William Lawson, who has now become a regular in Wolverhampton's Elite League squad. Bridge beat 1996 world champion Billy Hamill in a league meeting at Monmore Green earlier this season. Monmore promoter Chris Van Straaten said: "I wanted to stage this all along and I'd have done all I could to include it even if we were in the play-offs," said Van Straaten. "I enjoy these meetings, the young lads come along and see it's a big stage to perform on and they always put on a great show. Next Monday should be no different." In a meeting supported by Kit Co, this is the line-up: Daniel Betson (Rye House), Richie Dennis (Scunthorpe), Shane Waldron (Plymouth), Robert Mear (Rye House), Harland Cook (Rye House), Ben Barker (Somerset), Lee Smart (Plymouth), Sam Martin (Boston), Tai Woffinden (Scunthorpe), Ben Taylor (Buxton), Ben Hopwood (Mildenhall), Joe Haines (Cleveland), Billy Legg (Newport), Lewis Bridger (Eastbourne), Jamie Westacott (Plymouth), Jack Hargreaves (Redcar). *FIRST details of the Banks's Olympique line-up will appear in Monday's official programme, priced £2. Taken from Wolves Official Website. I don't know if that's the riding order, or just a list.

21st century heathen
I'm going to give you 15 minutes to edit that comment before I respond to it. Too late - Are you sure there isn't something you'd like to insert between the words 'never' and 'down' so that it makes perfect sense? I could amend it for you if you like? T.N.T.
A worth winner in Lewis Bridger , but he was lucky !!! In the first staging of heat four, he missed the gate, readjusted his line and in doing so, bough down Billy Legg. However the ref calls it all four back Then in the re-run, he is trailing but somehow manages to get into second place but his bike is clearly not working and twice goes to pull ot of the race. This then leads to Billy Legg Ben Barker and Daniel Betson looked contenders but star of the show was Tai Woffiden who dropped his omli point to Lewis. Shorty
Brill meeting last night! Like someone said beforehand, Lewis can't gate but it's a good job he can race! He was well worth the entrance fee alone! Tai was quietly sneaking up on him too! Great meeting all in all! Well done to all involved! Track looks like will go Pretty slick inside but enough dirt outside. Heat 1: Mear way too fast into turn 3 lap 1 through fence fast but straight up perfectly ok. From Gate Easy win. Heat 2: Martin passed Cook for 3rd with cut back off turn 4 lap 3. Heat 3: Hopwood clipped curb turn 1 lap 2 did well to save it before fence. Heat 4: Messy start all4back. Legg Down at the moment. Up now and walking back to pits. Short Delay before re-run. Bridger bike problems first lap both straight raised hand to signal slowing down then bouncing bike so possible fuel delivery probably lost a lot of ground but recovered to win from 3rd. Heat 5: Good first turn by Woffinden to go 2nd to 1st Legg to 4th to 3rd turn 4 lap 1. Heat 6: From gate first 2 miles clear. Heat 7: Waldron spun and fell in front of all 3 turn 4 lap 1 good avoiding action by Smart outside as others went inside. Went to back but recovered to win. Heat 8: Good 1st lap by Haines round outside to go 4th to 2nd. Heat 9: Good ride by Barker outside pass 3rd to 2nd tunr 2 lap 2 lifted wildly turn 4 lap 3 saved it missed win by half a wheel. Heat 10: Haines fell last bend lifted like Barker but fell off back of bike up and ok. Heat 11: First 2 level for half lap but Bridger used Wide line for 4 laps to win by a country mile. Heat 12: Legg fell turn 4 lap 1 texter missed who but another rider hit bike and fell both riders on track race continued with no red light. Other 2 in bend at speedway as lights came on. They went wide as fallen riders tried to clear track. Bikes and Legg still on track as Riders passed. Crowd letting feeling known to ref. Legg excluded from re-run Legg now up but limping. Heat 13: Bridger 3rd to 1st off turn 4 lap 1. Heat 14: Martin ex for Tapes. Roberts in. Hopwood locked up badly Legg hit him both down. Legg ok. Hopwood ambulance for ankle injury. Hopwood ex from re-run. Legg 3rd to 2nd on lap 2 home straight. Heat 15: Good opening lap round outside by Cook. Heat 16: tight 1st turn woffinden lifted home straight crossing line into last lap almost hit fence but controlled it well to maintain lead. Heat 18: Hughes for Lambert excluded tapes. Smart 4th to 3rd entering lap 2. Heat 19: Legg fell bend but pushed for 1 points because Haines had ef lap 2. Heat 20: Bridger won by length of straight. Run-off: Barker won easy. 21st century heathen
Apologies for any mistakes but I was forced to talk to Wolves fans for most of the night. I'm sure they were trying to distract me. For the record the ref was Christina Turnbull. By not putting the red lights on until so late she put riders in serious danger, and there is no good reason for her actions. The reaction of the fans said it all. Virtually everybody turned to the ref's box and either made gestures, or had words to say. There delays were when there were re-runs, two rides back-to-back for riders, quick track grades, and of course the main interval. Heat 17 was a cracking race. I didn't have time to text comments on it straight after the heat, and it hasn't been added. Betson went from 1st to 2nd, back to 3rd, along the home straight and going around turn 1 lap 2. He then held a tight line to go passed both riders to regain 1st place. As they went around turn 1/2 they were 3 abreast. It was Westacott that went from 2nd to 1st as they were going into the turn. As they went around the turn he went back to 2nd. Taylor was making ground on both around the outside. He went from from 3rd to 1st very briefly as they went 3 abreast. He couldn't hold the speed on the turn and went straight back to 3rd. Betson levelled off on the exit of the turn to go clear for the win. Martin then got in on the action towards the end of the race to provide a tight last lap battle for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. There were no more passes, but there's was barely 2 bike lengths between 2nd and 4th on the line. Lewis provided more passes in one night than some tracks manage in a season. The crowd was respectable, but probably only half the normal number.
Fourentee
For the record the ref was Christina Turnbull. By not putting the red lights on until so late she put riders in serious danger, and there is no good reason for her actions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Referee later admitted to error, pushing green exclusion light button which is apparently next to red stop lights button. Fair play to her for being honest about it. See story in tonight's E&S.
