south coast robin
I think the point being made was that your experiences could hardly be the same since Cardiff doesn't have the Tube. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Subby..lord give me strength !! There were certainly a few more at Cardiff this year . Passionate , noisy fans as well , adds to the atmosphere .

Subedei
not quite sure what your point is!,could you expand? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I believe the point is that Cardiff can't be that difficult to get to if the Poles manage it. AndyM
Whatever the transport difficulties of Cardiff and no matter how good the stadium, it's still out in the sticks. Getting speedway back into the hub of London is a matter of importance - without it, we'll always be marginalised.
Subedei
"non locals" made it to bydgoszcz, daugavpils, and plenty of other obscure places, but that does'nt mean it would'nt have been easier to travel to rome, warsaw, prague, stockholm etc <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For the type of racing Bydgoszcz produces, it's worth travelling out of the way. But the racing at Cardiff the past couple of seasons has been diabolical. This season it was hardly worth the effort walking to the front room to watch it on television, nevermind traipsing all the way to Cardiff. Increasingly people only go to Cardiff for a get together at "Sam's" or whatever. The racing isn't a draw. The people make Cardiff special, if special it be. I see no reason why that shouldn't be replicated elsewhere.
ulrichsfans
There are lots of down sides to Wembley such as leavin early to get your last train home. What if it rains no roof.
Subedei
What if it rains no roof. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They seemed to manage in the rain at Malilla and Prague without too many problems. And Wembley will, at least, have a roof for spectators.
south coast robin
Think that our norvern friends.. (that's not norf of Watford Andy M ).would probably prefer a venue around the Brum / Cov manors . Don't agree that the quality of racing has been diabolical Sub . My stepson attending his first ever speedway meeting thought it was an awesome experience . Mind you i think he changed his mind after attending a meeting on the costa del worky one cold Saturday night !!
