tomazpozrl
I've just received this from the FIM : The International Disciplinary Court (CDI) convened yesterday at the FIM headquarters in Mies, Switzerland, in a public hearing in order to judge the request lodged to the CDI by the FIM Executive Board to impose further sanctions against Danish rider Nicki Pedersen for the offence of bad behaviour against Speedway Grand Prix Race Director Ole Olsen during the running of the Speedway World Cup event held in Reading, Great Britain, on July 22. Present at the hearing were Mr Alexander Gontard, CDI President, and Ole Olsen as witness. Neither Nicki Pedersen nor his team manager Jan Staechmann were present or represented. The CDI took the following decisions: Nicki Pedersen is sanctioned with a fine of CHF 2.000 and a suspension of six months beginning on 1st April 2007 and with respite for a probationary period from 1st April to 1st October 2007, verdict to be executed in case of further offence of bad behaviour. Jan Staechmann was given a warning for not acting in order to stop the incident. The costs of the procedure are to be borne by Nicki Pedersen (2/3) and Jan Staechmann (1/3). The full text of the decision will be published within a few days. An appeal may be lodged against this decision to the TIA within 5 days following the written notification. Dekker
Bet NP and JS have to foot a massive bar bill with all those FIM liggers in town.

Suspension from what? FIM Events?
Guest Schumi
What this mean? Suspension from what? FIM Events? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Reads to me like it's a suspended sentence to be imposed in the event he does it again. The fine stands regardless. Steve Turner
That all seems fair, to be honest. Can't see an appeal getting far, so I doubt they'll bother. It WAS all caught on film after all Have to smile at the irony of it all...Danish rider - Danish Team Manager - Danish Legend, as Race Director...all kicking-off on a night that ended with Danish World Cup Winners ! The price ya pay for success, eh ?
SCB
Bloody Danish Speedway riders!!! They're an embarasment. That should get a response

garf
. . . . . . Neither Nicki Pedersen nor his team manager Jan Staechmann were present or represented. . . . . . . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Last time I checked, I did't notice that "Stekker" was the manager of NP's team. He was still the National Coach.
rickmiller
Shame Hans didnt get fined for his foul mouthed tirade live on Sky. The sooner he realises that he is a world class rider that doesnt need to court controversy to be successful, the better for everyone in speedway. If the Brits don't like what is said live, they have to put preassure on Sky and claim interviews on the riders own language, and then translate it into the language you can accept. Don't claim riders to be perfect on another language than their own ! ! !
rickmiller
In football, it would be known as 'bringing the sport into disrepute' and is dealt with by the sports governing body. No one is perfect (in any language) and the pressure at the time was huge but the riders are supposed to be professional in the way they represent themselves, their sponsors and the sport. As a basic moral standard, swearing is unacceptable in the majority (if not all) of lifes situations but it is much worse when used in what is supposed to be a family orientated environment. It happens alot but most riders at least have the decency to apologise. Maybe Sky have done something about it as Hans has had little airtime recently. I like Hans, think that he can be World Champion but he has to get a grip of things before the ill feeling towards him before its too late. Although you wouldn't know it the way the last week of the EL was handled.
