Trees
This line-up does nought for me. Looks like a certain home winner. It doesnt make me want to get off me ass and get there im afraid I hope you miss a real good one then A certain home winner, I reckon Messrs Holder, Watt, Howe and Tacey may have summat to say about that! And are you telling me that a race with Batchelor, Holder, Watt and Doolan won't be entertaining? Or Oliver, Jones, Mills and Harding? Or Topinka, Watt, Holder and Pijper? Or Howe, Tacey, Doolan and Harding? etc etc I'd certainly 1000% rather pay £10+ to watch this meeting than some ruddy old footie match for a fiver ................... no comparison, how could you even contemplate it! lol
Shortcrust
My fingers will be thoroughly crossed hoping no injuries affect our team for the rest of the season. Still think it's a stupid time to hold the event.

I hope for all you going i miss a real corker. I remember the days when The POE was an all star cast of who was who in Speedway. That line-up aint even nowhere near the best the Premier League has to offer. Edited October 4, 2006 by semion

Was relegated to the back though, Passed Doolan on lap 3 but couldnt get near Watt Heat 9 - Fron the gate, Batchelor chased hard though just ran out of room on the final bend Heat 10 - Jones third to second to third. Tacey last to second, Pijper second to third to last over the course of the race. Mr Mungo couldnt hear the time Heat 11 - Holder fell and is excluded, Fell while leading, similar to the previous race but this time unlike last time he couldnt hold on, he is up and okay which is the main thing Heat 11 (Re-Run) - King fell while leading and Topinka couldnt avoid him. Heavy fall but he is up, King excluded Tomas Topinka has withdrawn from the meeting and Nathan Irwin replaces him Heat 12 - Howe fell while trying to pass Oliver, Harding passed Brundle on the 1st lap Heat 13 - Watt by a mile, closer race between Mills and Brundle in the early stages Heat 14 - Terrific race for first, Batchelor all over Holder with Holder just getting the win by inches Heat 15 - Harding gated but passed by Doolan on lap 1, Pijper passed Harding on lap 2 and passed Doolan on lap 3!, great ride Heat 16 - Howe passed Lee on lap 1, Lee then re passed him only for Howe to get back into 2nd on the 3rd lap Heat 18 - Doolan had engine failure while challenging for the lead Heat 19 - Nermark passed King at the end of the 1st lap, track is now very slick Heat 20 - Batchelor never troubled Grand Final - Daniel Nermark, Davey Watt, Troy Batchelor, Chris Holder Grand Final - Watt again from the gate, worthy winner Holder challenged Batchelor briefly on lap 2 but his race fizzled out after that Thanks to everyone for watching tonight and a special thanks to Mr Mungo for the texts Congrats to Davey Watt on being crowned the 2006 Pride Of The East Champion and until next time take care and goodnight

superstar
There was a rumour floating around that he may have broken a bone in his hand. Let's hope it proves to be just that ~ a rumour! We can't afford to lose Tomas now at this crucial point of the season. Shortcrust
Wots the news on the skipper ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gone to hospital to have his left hand checked out. Got a knock around the little finger knuckle. He was wiggling his fingers though quite freely so hopefully nothing is broken. Nasty looking lump though. Well deserved victory for Davey, and great to have two KL riders following him home. Glad the end result turned out as it did and Calamity Jane didn't make it onto the rostrum. Also congrats to John Oliver for picking up the Rider of the Year award, very well deserved.
TonyM
Better meeting than some had predicted proving the point that you dont need 'names' to provide entertainment although better track conditions may have helped more with yet again an overly slick track not really providing too many racing lines (was there no one to drive the water truck tonight?) Hope Tom is OK although the signs dont look too good at present
Trees
Well yes it was pretty entertaining although I had my hands over my eyes at times and heart in my mouth after moves from a rider or two. I dooooooooo hope Tomas will be ok, it would be terrible if he now missed out on THE most important matches of the season through an injury in this meeting, which really, like the Boro challenge, should be after all our cup and league matches imo! All the riders were well up for the POULTEC challenge, which was great from a fan's point of view, no going through the motions tonight for sure!! Davy Watt certainly deserved his win in the final (although Tomas may have given him a run for his money had he not been injured ) closely followed by Dan the Man, with Troy and Chris having their own personal dual for 3rd with Troy coming out on top again as he did in the ultra entertaining heat 14 when a dead heat would have been the fairer result! I was particularly keeping an eye on the performances of Paul Lee and Mark Jones. Paul scored a credible 8 points including two wins, in heat 18 he was having a good race against a chasing Kev Doolan when Kev's chain came off I think. I certainly feel that Mark has got loads more to give, his 3 points don't tell the whole story tonight and I sincerely hope he gets his team place next season! He'd win the most controlled wheelie of the night comp without a doubt! The fireworks were FANTASTIC!
tellboy
well done to all all the riders concerned. unfortunately as confirmed by trotter tomas has broken a bone in his hand and sees the specialist today who he hopes will realign his knuckle and finger and then a visit to brian simpson. Shortcrust
Gutted for TT, just hope Mr Simpson can work his miracles and have TT back on his bike real soon. I know getting a guest is no probs but it's TT I feel for the most here. Can just picture the Rye House Mafia rubbing their hands with glee at this news. Still it was bound to happen at some stage imo, pity the POTE had to be run before the important stuff. Perhaps light will dawn on our promotion at some point as to what takes priority in the future. MrMungo
Considering the play-offs are scheduled for the very end of October, I don't see what choice the promotion had. Either stage it before the POs or not at all. One of the better individual meets I've seen in a while. Can see Calamity Jane being back at the NA a few more times this year.. Can see Calamity Jane being back at the NA a few more times this year.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well now he's had a taster of the KL fence, hopefully it'll calm him down a tad. Maybe he should ask Dan the Man for lessons in passing on the outside cleanly.
semion
How was the track this week, any better than last ? Were the home riders all content with it.
MrMungo
Slick and dry again. Can't recall them watering the track once. Perhaps they knew something I didn't... Topinka, Mills, Batchelor (once he got going) had little problems with the track. Whether they were happy or not, I don't know. Nermark didn't look as fast as normal. Oliver it's hard to tell given the tough company. Doolan rarely does well in individuals and hasn't been that hot at KL lately either, while Harding was somewhat as you'd expect. Had moments but not the quickest rider out there. If the track is same in a couple of weeks, Rye will have a field day! Tommy Allen was a keen visitor I noticed... Trees
Millsy's thoughts too. But apparently the promoter/team's opinions of what is needed seems to differ somewhat. I absolutely sincerely hope that the management do their level best by the team re the track, every team needs their home track advantage/knowledge ........... communication between the team and track man is VITAL now Huggy has gone Such a bleeding shame this has all had to happen this season, at this point in the season, our best ever, damned bull skulled males!!!! BUT, with a bit of give and take, the team can't be thwarted now ................. COME ON!!!!!!!
