Steve Shovlar
Fist of all well done to Hancock. Fast bike in the final. Gutted for Antonio. Well clear in the first running and may have held on but for a fall. For the second time in a week Lindback has been leading a final for it to be called back. And for both times he has ended up as second. The lad grew into a man tonight in diabolical track conditions. Prefering deeper, grippier conditins, he buckled down and almost got his first GP win. It won'y be long now before it happens for him. The track though was a joke. Nice stadium, good crowd. but hang on a minute lads, we've forgotten to order the shale!! Oh well concrete it is then. Guest Schumi
Shouldn't this thread be called "Well Done Hancock, Gutted For Lindback?"
Rob B
Lindback was fed the dummy, and fell for it. Hancock rode round the outside for 3 laps, Lindback then went wide to cover it and Hancock dived up the inside, great move. Lindback should of never moved off the white line and should of been an easy win with the big advantage gate 1 gave.
pirate paul
Shouldn't this thread be called "Well Done Hancock, Gutted For Lindback?" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. As Poole fans we are quite entitled to feel sorry for Anton, and to come second to a former world champ deserves a pat on the back. Reviresco
Agreed. Tonio has been on top form over the last couple of weeks and at 33-1 with Sky Bet almost won me a few bob. Seems the sort of guy who will learn from his two unfortunate re-run defeats. Yes, Greg rode the re-run brilliantly, but he did look well beat in the first running. Another victory for the old brigade. When are the young guns going to finally takeover?
Steve Shovlar
Another victory for the old brigade. When are the young guns going to finally takeover? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Next year. This is Hancocks swansong and he rode well in the final. But he is about 16 years older than Lindback and that's a lot of experience. Antonio is now showing all his doubters his real talent and the reason I for one think he will be world champion in the non too distant future. On a track he wouldn't have felt happy on, he knuckled down and gave his best performance to date in a GP. Hancock was never going to get him if he had stayed low but was obviously worried about Hancock around the outside. Lack of experience caused him to move out and Hancock took his chance. Twice in two weeks he has lost the final due to reruns. Last week he was clear when Lindgren lifted and Zabik in third, then tonight well clear when Pedersen fell. At least tonight he gated again, but never managed the lead he had in the first run of the final. Still, top 8 now and riding well. Should make next years GP series without having to hope for a wild card.
DartfordHammer
Good for Greg. He's been unlucky in my opinion not to win GP's this year, he's come very close indeed, so he deserves to win the inaugural Latvian GP. Good for you Greg. Good to see Toninho continuing his great progress. I can see him taking at least one GP win next season, who knows what else.
sweet_lil_mystery
I was pleased for Greg, this GP win has been long overdue! But also gutted for Anton like everyone else, it was a really bad case of deja vu! I can't imagine how he felt when those red lights came on, poor guy. But well done to him anyway, second place is still great! And hopefully he'll make the final again next GP
Sir Jasper
His rest has obviously done him some good.

21st century heathen
He rode very well, and it took a great ride by Greg to steal the win from under his nose. Brilliant ride from Greg. Good on ya Grin. As long as he doesn't do anything very silly he should have second place.
Hackett
Thought Lindback was excellent value on Saturday and deserved his rostrum place and was unlucky to loose the final. Shame that Lindback, Hampel, and AJ are unlikely to ride in the EL next season.
rabbit
Hold yer horses...no-one's yet said Antonio won't be back. There's a lot of positioning going on at the moment so don't take everything you read literally. Just because Matt has said only Bjarne is certain of a team place, I think it's just a warning shot to certain riders not to take their futures for granted. I'd not be surprised to see Anton back at Poole in '07. He's good value both in terms of exposure for the club and points so as long as he doesn't make any stupid demands and can do a deal I don't see why he'll miss next year. It's all down to how much he wants to ride over here imo.
