British Selection For 2007

Recommended Posts

I see the "big picture" clearly - the big picture is the world speedway championship being defiled by the continued presence of a serial failure in spite of disregard for making the effort to qualify. The "big picture" is that Nicholls has already acknowledged the damage and harm it does by saying that his continued presence would not be justified if he didn't qualify. Don't you care about integrity in this sport?

The guy was 6th ...broke a collarbone missed a GP and failed to qualify....because of missing a GP...surely you can see that or are you completely stupid

You obviously have a chip on your shoulder about Nicholls.....so come on tell us....what did he do to you...knock off your fav rider....refused to give you an autograph......please do tell...cos you are getting a little boring now to be honest...i dismissed everything you said after you claimed you would have Ulamek in the GPs ahead of Nicholls.....i mean....get real

Okay, on that basis, I assume you proclaim Tomasz Gollob the rightful champion in 1999. After all, Gollob missed out on the British GP in 1999 and finished second overall to Tony Rickardsson. Their final scores were 111 to 98, but Gollob averaged 18 points per completed GP in 1999. Add 18 points to 98 and Gollob's the champion. Is that how it works? Congratulations to Tomasz Gollob, world champion from 1999. Congratulations to Ivan Mauger, still the only rider with six world titles to his name. Sorry TR, but these are the new rules, or so it seems.

Subedei,

this is just getting boring now. you are saying different things and both make no sense at all.

can i ask you, if you go to cardiff every year, what rider/s do you support? do you wear polish tinted glass?!!

can you imagine bsi not including a brits in the series, how the hell are they supposed to promote a big meeting at cardiff with no british rider in it!

it is quite plain for me and others to see that nicholls in defiantly one of the top 15 riders in the world. how you judge ulamek and kolodziej as better riders i do not know.

surely if you want a competitive gp series every year you have the best riders in there.

Why would I go to Cardiff? The track is an abortion and the racing dreadful.

And I make perfect sense, if you value integrity, honesty and decency. I don't argue that Gollob was world champion in 1999. He missed a round, tough luck. Nicholls missed a round, equally tough luck.

Then call it what it is: the BSI Open Invitational Series and don't sully a world championship by association with it.

It is clear here that the only real arguement for including Nicholls is a commercial arguement. And that's just not good enough. It lacks decency and integrity, just as the GPs will next season if Nicholls shames them with his presence.

Subedei,

ok so you dont go to cardiff, but do you watch it on the tv? who do you support while watching it?

you are entitled to your own opinion which is far enough but scotty is going to be in next years gp series whether you like it or not.

i think your view points are incorrect and that you are never going to see the light!

you can argue until you are blue in the face but you wont change bsi's decision.

getting back to the really topic of this post, scotty and bomber are going to me in there next season, in my opinion.

if you read the programme from friday night at coventry then you get the feeling that bomber is going to get a spot.

Hardly even worth watching the Cardiff GP on television, since the racing is so appalling. But, since you ask, although most people would already know, I support the great man in the GPs. And there's more talent in a clipping from his little fingernail than in the whole of Nicholls' being.

And it's now been over six years and fifty-five GPs since Martin Dugard won his GP and became Britain's last GP winner. I'm sure that statistic fills you with a huge amount of pride. Constantly rewarding failure won't bring the glory days back to British speedway.

Personally, I'd like to think Nicholls has enough sense of right and wrong to refuse any charity nomination that comes his way. Give him the Cardiff wild card, it's all he deserves.

WHEN DID A POLE LAST WIN THE WORLD TITLE?! AND THAT WAS A FLUKE!

No point arguing with you!

I see you rapidly modified that.

Yes, arguing with someone with a cast iron arguement that can't be defeated is rather pointless. Nicholls didn't qualify, end of story. And Nicholls said if he didn't qualify then he didn't deserve to be there. Not a very good starting point for your argument. I don't see why you persisted with it for so long.

But good to see you've finally seen sense.

Who is the great man!!!!!!!!.....Subdei....you still have not answered my questions...what have you got against Nicholls......and why is it ok for Bjarne Pedersen to be in and not Nicholls who finished above him riding 1 gp less.....surely you can see that

So. You haven't answered mine. And if you'd bothered to read my posts you'd find I have answered your questions over and over again.

But, I'll answer again, I have nothing against Nicholls and if he follows through with his earlier comments I will applaud his actions. As for Bjarne Pedersen, he qualified for 2006 and deserves another chance. Nicholls didn't qualify for 2005, 2006 and now 2007. He's had his chances and has blown each and every one.

Subedei i thing you need to change the record you can only make the same point so many times and jirout dont read all of his posts they are all the same!!

Like it or not they are going to offer Scott a place but I am not 100% sure he will accept it. I hope he does accept it but if he doesnt I hope you give him credit for that if thats not too much to ask.

Haven't I already said I would?

But I'm not about to hold my breath waiting for him to do the right thing.

Even if he does take the wildcard...good luck to him...BSI take each year as it comes.....Nicholls would have qualified but for injury the same as Hampel last year...He is in the Top 15 riders in the world if not top 10...

Maybe you should worry bout your own countries riders and let us worry bout ours.....and if you feel so bad avout the disgrace and shame of the GPs...dont watch them....
