This makes his peformance even more impressive. According to the BTZ official site Sajfutdinov was born on 26 Oct 1989, which by my calculations makes him still only 16 years old. I've seen the lad on DVD a few times and he can go a bit.

 

Ok, the opposition yesterday were pretty crap, but this lad clearly is a bit special. I'm sure it was Mateusz that told me that Sajfutdinov was recommended to the club by AJ, who had seen him ride in the Russian League.

 

Frightening to think if the current rules stay in place this lad is eligible for a reserve berth for the next 4 years. Will the Poles allow a foreign youngster to be protected for such a long time ?

Looking at his results this year and last he looks every bit as worthy of the hype that Pavlic gets.

 

2005 summary ( all while only 15!):

 

Qualified for European under 19 championship final, but not allowed to ride because too young

Won Russian under21 title

6th in Russian senior championship (equal with Gafurov)

Averaged 9.17 in russian league (11th in rankings)

4 times in a row is enough for me to be really sure.. Despite some crappy performances in SGP recently he's still the only king of the Bydgoszcz track and all things being well (I mean no ef's etc..) I cannot see another winner

Slabon still rides a lot.Both in Poland and Sweden.He did ride a few meetings last year in Germany and looked good at that level.Never going to be a top rider,but entertaining never the less.
