Subedei
And Tomasz Gollob remains Poland's best rider after claiming his seventh Polish individual crown in Tarnow last evening. Gollob finished on 13 points, one point ahead of Torun's Wieslaw Jagus who finished second. Sebastian Ulamek was third and Jaroslaw Hampel fourth. Wieslaw Jagus, of course, rides in the GP qualifying final in Vetlanda this weekend and with his sparkling form this season, few would bet against him upsetting BSI's applecart by getting into their circus. 21st century heathen
That's a slight surprise. Not that Gollob won, but that Hampel wasn't in the top three.
Subedei
How about this for a slight surprise - one of young Gollob's defeats came at the hands of Berwick's Jacek Rempala.
21st century heathen
A good win for him without doubt. The old boy is likely to drop the odd point these days, and any one of the younger generation could pop out and beat him. They all seem pretty quick when they make starts, and get on their fave line early. Not that I see much of the Poles, but from what we see of them here and in GP's/WC... tommy
How about this for a slight surprise - one of young Gollob's defeats came at the hands of Berwick's Jacek Rempala. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was in Tarnow for the final, Jacek rode on his brother's (Marcin) bike which is set-up for the hard rock Tarnow track very well. First half of the meeting pretty boring, eventually as there was more and more dirt on the outside the racing got somewhat better.
tarabanko
Pretty decent crowd at 12.000 peoples anyway!!

Champion
Jacek rode on his brother's (Marcin) bike which is set-up for the hard rock Tarnow track very well That's true, but also Jacek grew up on this track and he knows every inch of it. Jacek Rempala and Tomasz Gollob were born in 1971.
MattK
Does anyone have the full result for this?
Dekker
And Tomasz Gollob remains Poland's best riderSorry but it proves nothing, apart from that Gollob can get it up once in a while for 4 or 5 races, Todays Gollob is not a patch on the one from 5 or 6 years ago. Subedei
And where in Poland will the great man be riding next season? It seems that cash-strapped Tarnow may not be able to afford to keep Gollob next season and it looks like he has a fair few clubs chasing his signature. Could an emotional return to Polonia Bydgoszcz be on the cards, or will Marta Poltorak lure him to Rzeszow? http://www.speedwayworld.tv/en/polishleague/a6677
iris123
Guess it depends on whether Gollob no.2 is part of the deal or will it be a parting of the ways
Mateusz
There have been some rumours about Gollob's comeback to Bydgoszcz but personally I don't believe it for some reasons (sponsors, money etc..). There's just a different conception for building the 2007 line-up in Bydgoszcz. IMHO it may be Wroclaw which always have a serious budget or Reszow. And it's J.Gollob's last season probably so he should not a problem for any club hunting for T.Gollob this winter..

Rico
Mateusz You said he got beaten by Sajfutdinov - does this mean we have a future GP star at reserve for Polonia Bydgoszcz ? Rico Edited August 21, 2006 by Rico
