shazzybird
Compare the distance and ease of access to Cardiff and to London for most fans. Cardiff is out in the sticks and always will be. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> London from my house 1:30hr Cardiff from my house 3:30hrs yet I would still rather go to Cardiff now. London is ok but where are we all supposed to park and although it would be handy to come straight home after the meeting it wouldn't be the same as having a GP weekend away would it? Meet up with people for a couple of hours instead of going out on the sherbert with them for the day. It's not all about drinking I know, normally I drink diet coke, I don't get lairy or silly when I've had a beer (except on msn to Nevsy, oh and then there's the VSRA WSRA ) it's the socialising part tht I enjoy. Keep it in Cardiff that's what I say
The Know
Dont fancy london at all, cardiff has it all. Very easy to get to, right in centre of town and great stadium. Have booked hotel and reserved 3 boxes and cant wait for next june.
Biggypop
Well after 2 days of trying to book accommadation for the 2007 GP all I can say is roll on the time its elsewhere! The city hotels & guest houses are hiking their rates obscenely, we stayed at Jury's Inn this year, £85 per room, great. They are asking £195 per night and you have to stay 2 nights minimum! Its not even a great hotel, the guest houses are doing the same, much as I want to go, I am not paying the equivalent of a weeks holiday abroad to see one nights speedway. Cardiff is rip off central!!!
Carcal
Not really, anywhere in Britain would do the same because they know they can make more money because people will stay!
Biggypop
We have been to major events at Birmingham and not been fleeced by the hotels though.
